Jungalou Crew and Riley Too is a fun and interesting story about the beloved elephant Jungalou and his friends. The story is told in a lighthearted and cute way, using very simple words to engage its young audience in the immersive adventure of Jungalou and the others.
Different from other children's books, Jungalou Crew and Riley Too explores issues such as environmental protection. Together, we readers join the characters on a journey to the beach for a cleanup. It is never too early to start teaching young children about saving our planet. Erik Daniel Shein, Melissa Davis, and Karen Fuller seamlessly incorporated this topic in the colorful adventure of Jungalou and his friends, which adds depth to this book and makes it more than just a cute story about talking animals.
Apart from the meaningful plot, I also found the pictures incredibly adorable. My favorites are Jabari the monkey, Lumi the firefly, and Riley the hippo, although I am also fond of the other characters. The colors in both the jungle scenes and the ocean scenes were vivid, bold, and beautiful. I believe they would definitely pique the interest of any child who comes across this charming book.
With its positive and upbeat story, bright and lovable characters, and impeccable pictures, Jungalou Crew and Riley Too is a memorable children's book that deserves recognition.
