I was born in Istanbul, Turkey but have lived all around the world. My many travels have given me the advantage of immersing myself in various different cultures and learning more languages (yes, that way there are even more people I can talk to!).

I now live in Scotland, UK with my lovely husband and two daughters and have finally gotten around to putting pen to paper and actually writing those stories I have been cooking up since childhood.

My aim in my career as a writer is to give them the same few hours of enjoyment that I have gained reading my own favourite authors - for me there is no greater gift than that of fun and laughter.

Equilibrium: Dragon Born (Book Five) by Ela Lourenco delivers a fittingly epic and emotionally charged conclusion to the Dragon Born series. With the fate of Azmantium hanging in the balance, this final installment raises the stakes to their highest point, blending destiny, betrayal, and divine level conflict into a decisive endgame.

At the heart of the novel is Lara’s reckoning not just with an overwhelming external threat, but with her own identity, resolve, and purpose. Lourenco leans fully into the weight of culmination here: every shock, act of treachery, and hard earned alliance feels like the natural consequence of choices made across the series. The emergence of an enemy powerful enough to challenge even the Gods reinforces the theme that destiny is not a guarantee, but a trial.

What stands out most is the emotional momentum. The narrative doesn’t rely solely on spectacle; instead, it grounds its high fantasy elements in personal sacrifice and loyalty. Lara’s struggle is as much internal as it is cosmic, making her victories and losses resonate on a human level despite the mythic scale.

Worldbuilding remains a strength, with Azmantium feeling fully realized and worth fighting for until the final pages. Longtime readers will appreciate how lingering threads are addressed, while the tone of inevitability gives the story a sense of gravity that suits a series finale.

Equilibrium is a satisfying conclusion for fans of the Dragon Born saga and a strong example of classic epic fantasy storytelling: dragons, destiny, gods, and the enduring question of whether strength alone is enough to save a world.

All in all. A worthy sequel.
