This book is about different kinds of family structures and what different people might think of when they hear the word "family." Some children think of their mom and dad, their grandparents, their step mom or step dad, their two moms, or their two dads. Families can look very different on the outside because what makes a family is the love that they share for each other. I would have this book in my classroom to show students how different families can look so that they understand that not everyone's family will be made up of a mom, a dad, and their kids. I want my students to be respectful of people's families and not view them as "weird" if one of their peers' families looks different from their own.

A sweet book that introduces the varieties of families and shows that no matter how your family came together or what it looks like, what defines a family is the choice to love one another.

A book that talks about how there is more than one way (the traditional way) to be a family! I absolutely loved reading this story to my class as most students come from the traditional family.
