First half was fine, if I remember right. Second half is only fight sequences and info-dumpy exposition, the epilogue was the only truly interesting part of the second half. This took me so long to read, I don't even remember the first half. Fine, that's an exaggeration but because I've been reading these back to back, it's 1 continuous story in my head, I don't remember where this book picks up the thread.
The final battle between Grey and the Ice-man was so.... Unrealistic? Ice-man been beating every one left and right but somehow Grey can hold his own even though there is a difference of over 2 evolutions between the two? Mr. I've perfected my craft and can't even be considered human anymore because of all my specialization and power goes toe to toe with Mr. no memory of my previous life, been learning the ropes for a few months--Make it make sense.
Also, if this dude is able to do so much on his own , without his AI's help, then why does he rely so heavily on the AI when it's available?

The Legate is book 6 in this series, and though it's a bit slow at times, it works out to an excellent ending, and sets up the next book in the series brilliantly. Will read the next one in this series for sure.
