Cowgirl, Unbroken
Mia Mann doesn’t need a white knight.
And a year in jail might be preferable to a stent at a veteran treatment program. Especially when fellow veteran, Matt Bishop, refuses to let her fade into the background.
She isn’t looking for an affair—been there, done that, has the scars to prove it.
Unfortunately, a man like Matt fights for what he wants.
Mia soon discovers he’s not the man she thought he was—he’s far worse.
He makes her want what she can’t have. But she isn’t the only one with a tarnished sword and fire-breathing demons to slay.
Despite her reservations, they grow closer.
Is Matt nothing more than a convenient distraction? Or is he the one man who can convince her she’s worthy of love?
Vicki Tharp makes her home on small acreage in south Texas with her husband and an embarrassing number of pets. When she isn’t writing or you can usually find her on the back of her horse—avoiding anything that remotely resembles housework—smelling of fly spray, and horse sweat.
Lazy S Ranch books 4-6 bundle series this author new to me and I really enjoyed all 3 of the books with former military veteran finding healing at the Lazy S Ranch.
Cowboy Undercover (# 4) is Gil and Tessa's story about a undercover agent who wants to find the person who is running guns in Wyoming and finds love with Tessa who is a crack helicopter pilot for the Task Force who's fighting her ex-husband for custody of their son. But something doesn't feel right and it will be up to the Task Force, ATF to find the gun runners before it's too late. Can Gil and Tessa fight their feelings for each other?
Cowboy Unbridled (# 5) Taylor Foxx and Zealand Cross's story was I thought the best out of all get scheme that the feds are now investigating. When she's called to help one of Healing Hands best horses she'll be hoping to earn the trust of ranchers who'll keep her going until the money comes in. Zealand has flashback from his Army Medic and is at Healing Hands for help with his fear of blood. When she asks for Zealand to assist her in farm calls will he accept because his options are slim when he loses funding. But when Taylor's ex arrives in town Zealand will do everything to protect her.
Cowgirl Unbroken (# 6) is Mia and Matt's story. This was also another favorite as the couple have been in all 3 previous books as their story was a great build up to the climatic ending. Mia was hurt badly by the Army, her ex boyfriend and her parents aren't going to win awards either. She's at Healing Hands due to court order or it's jail and being indoors is like walls closing in on her. Matt is very protective of her and will do anything to help heal. When two boys go missing in a snow storm it will take everyone to rescue them and perhaps Mia and Matt will find their own HEA later.
I really enjoyed this box set of three standalone romances. Each had its own unique storyline with some background cameos from previous book characters. I enjoyed the strong women and men in these stories and how they worked through complex emotions. I highly recommend as separate reads or together in box sets as a special treat.
Loved this group of stories ( 4,5,6). Touching your heart in so many ways. Insight into the drama, pain, emotional traps they face upon returning from military, law, and other traumatic life altering experiences. It helps us to understand their pain more.
I enjoyed reading these 3 books, they are very satisfying. The storyline meshes with previous books, the premise of a healing horse training business is a seductive setting.
