Property Fit: Get your property portfolio in shape for financial freedom

Rate this book
Proven strategies and mentor tips to help new and experienced investors achieve financial freedom through property. As with any fitness program, there's a process to getting your property investments into shape and achieving peak performance. You don't run a marathon if you've only just started jogging and you don't begin weight training by lifting 30kg dumb bells. There's a process to follow. There are also multiple ways to keep fit, through a variety of sports or exercise programs. Investing in property is no different. You need to start by learning how other people invest - including the mistakes they make. You have to find a team of experts (your 'trainers'), do some self-assessment (your fitness test) and then start to look at how you will achieve your property investing goals. Property Fit assists you with all of this. Experienced property investor and entrepreneur, Luke Harris, takes you through the groundwork you need to cover before you start investing. Then he explores all the ways to invest in property to help you find a strategy that will lead to the ultimate goal of financial freedom. This easy-to-read, practical book includes mentor tips and mindset insights, as well as proven strategies that seasoned investors, or those just starting out in property, will find invaluable.

In keeping with the book, here are my top 3 positives and negatives…

Positives:

1. A great overview of the different property investment options with the pros and cons of each.

2. A short easy read that’s not padded out with unnecessary chatter.

3. A few good tips on traditional rental properties which is the easiest and best place to start.

Negatives:

1. Talks a lot about your personal strategy but doesn’t take you through developing that strategy.

2. Tells you to get a great team of experts and save a deposit but no tips on achieving that.

3. Uses Victorian legislation often, I’m in NSW.

Overall a great overview but that’s all it is, an overview. Leaves it to you to come up with an action plan (or book an appointment with his company I guess).

I'm was brand new to the idea of property investing when I first picked up the book...and frankly found all the other information out there a bit overwhelming!

Property Fit turned out to be the perfect introduction for me, breaking down various strategies in really easy to understand language and examples, so I could narrow down my options from there.

It allowed me to finally get started, instead of procrastinating for EVEN LONGER :-)

PS Since reading the book I now have my first property!

The book is fairly basic, doesn't go into a lot of detail, but has some stories of his own investments and gives an overview of the basic types of investing that you can go into for property. It was a quick read, and for me, worth the overview, but it didn't have a lot to it.
