The four papers in this volume were presented at a 1992 symposium celebrating the anticipated beatification of John Duns Scotus. It was "The Contemporary Implications of the Thought of John Duns Scotus for Understanding the Nature of the Human Person, Free Will, and Decision-Making in the Private and Public Spheres". The symposium was held at The Franciscan Institute , St. Bonaventure University. The Friars Minor of the Holy Name Province (New York) co-sponsored the symposium and generously provided financial support for the symposium.
