We’re closing in on Chorus, the Lagolian’s home star system. It’s been a long month of relentless, deadly 5v5 skirmishes with the Nekrol, deadly A.I. robots with mysterious origins , but there’s finally a light at the end of the tunnel, especially now that I’m in command of the Lagolian army.
But before we can finish off the Nekrol, I need upgrades.
Vega shows me a whole new world called Holodnor, a neutral planet where alien races buy and sell everything from weapons to DNA upgrades . I’m going to need every little upgrade I can get, because there’s a new threat on the horizon—one that will make fighting the Nekrol seem like fighting kids’ toys—and one that will shed some light on where the alien robots came from, and what they want from the Lagolians.
This book was, for the most part, will written (although as I mentioned in my review of one of the earlier volumes, the battle scenes are someone's a bit tedious), you can, however, appreciate the author's own passions for real life scenarios at times. The finale was, in part a bit preform, but the situation with the mother ship was definable a surprise.
I have to say, I was impressed by how this book ended. Kyrie seems to have grown up more. Yes, he still has his moments, but so far, it seems he’s coming along nicely. As for Vega, it’s nice to see her softer side, to see her smile more. Glad she’s opening up more. Then again, the characters in general have better development. They seem more dimensional due to the higher stakes. Hopefully, Andrei will become a better team member later on.
This story came together pretty well. I still don’t think Kyr’s ready to be a dad, though. Way too young.
The fight scenes were cool. Very intense. It was very chaotic at times. I’d hate to imagine being picked off by a sniper hiding in the trees somewhere. Kyrie’s shots never cease to amaze me. The kills he earns are amazing.
I’m glad he comes more to terms with not just his role and his harem, but also his role in rebuilding Lagolia. It’s a bit cliched, but it’s still easy to understand.
The sex scenes were great as usual. Not much to say about them.
The twist was pretty easy to see. Even so, it was still horrifying when it’s discovered what and why the queen committed genocide against her own people. Truly terrible.
I’m surprised after the final battle, Kyrie didn’t try to heal Kuzu using what he learned from Brixi. I wonder if that was forgotten during the writing of this scene.🤔
This book was a huge improvement over the first two. I’m definitely going to read the next two. I can’t wait to see what happens. Aside from a few typos and infuriating moments (which are thankfully few and far between), this’s a pretty enjoyable read. It has what you’d expect in an action-erotica like this. Hop on in and check it out for yourself.
Absolutely brilliant, with twists you don't see coming!
I started reading this series a few days ago. The fact that I've made into book 3 within the same week as starting the series is a testament to how awesome the books are!
And this one takes the cake! Intergalactic Bazaar where you can buy weapons, armory and even upgrade your body?
Then there is the battles, the interpersonal relationships , the victories and the losses.
