Okay, I'm a late bloomer who's a big DC comics fan and spent my childhood summers on the Jersey shore but I was born under a wandering star and have lived in different parts of America ever since. That's enough about me. Need to feel inspired today? Looking for something to make you root for an ordinary hero? I'm all about that in everything I write.
I love a good tale that makes me wonder about things and I love a story even more that leaves me feeling inspired or like I'm capable of doing more than I realized. That's my goal with everything I've ever written. Some of the stories I tell involve twisting, turning thrillers and others have a lot of magic.
There's something to be said for getting lost in another world and coming out the other side feeling a little better about yourself or the possibilities in front of you. That's basically the best part of life in a nutshell, no matter what kind of story I'm setting out to tell.
Well, this is the last book of this great series, and I'm sad that the journey, which Cheyenne willingly took on as her duty, is now over and done with.
Admittedly, that journey was full of ups and downs, and poor Cheyenne had many decisions to make but, having been brought up by a Professional working Mother, no no no like Bianca Summerlin, and, with her Mother's Housekeeper, Eleanor, filling in the softer role of friend and helper, its no surprise that Cheyenne faced every fear, and battled on through - even when her father, the Drow, L'zar, seemed to have lost it, and was determined to take over both of the worlds of Ambar'ogul, and Earth!
But that's the thing with great Authors, such as Martha Carr, and Michael Anderle - they are both prolific writers, and seem to come up with so many versions of the best of characters, plotlines, and exciting journeys for them to travel along.
But I'll miss this particular series as, with eighteen books involved in the series, I really got to know the main characters well. These were well rounded, and were either lovable, or not, as the case may be - but they were ALL OF THEM memorable! Lol
So, now I've got to decide which new series to pick, to read next, and I think it's going to be the series called: 'The Witch Next Door'.
This was co-written by Martha Carr, Michael Anderle, and Judith Berens - a made-up name, that represents all of the people who helped Martha and Michael write such excellent books! Lol
I'll be starting with Book One: 'One Witch Too Few', and, once I've finished it, I'll catch you on the flip side, to let you know what I think of it!
A satisfying end to a good series. Downside - the language: it's foul and it's American rather than English so there are innumerable occasions when the grammar will grate on an English reader's sensibilities Upside - the inventiveness of the storyteller
