About the author

Deirdre Brennan is a bilingual writer of poetry, short stories and drama. She has eight collections of poetry, the most recent of which are Swimming with Pelicans and Ag Eitilt fara Condair (Arlen House 2007). A collection of short stories, An Banana Bean Sí, was published by Coiscéim in 2009. She is the recipient of many prizes including a Poetry Ireland Choice of the Year, in THE SHOP poetry translation (2002), Oireachtas 2000, and a Listowel Writers Week short story award.Her stories in English have been broadcast on national radio and Cork Campus radio.
