The story of O.W. Gurley is truly heartbreaking: he worked hard to become one of the wealthiest African American men in America. He was the founder of the Greenwood district in Tulsa, Oklahoma, known as 'Black Wall Street'. After the Tulsa race massacre he lost everything. A sad commentary on how African Americans have had to face not only racial prejudice but also economic isolation.
