About the author

Fiola Faelan

FIOLA HAS ALWAYS loved to read and write, with her first mini-story crafted at age five. She’s come a long way from chubby fingers wrapped around crayons putting words, albeit misspelled, to paper.

Nowadays, Fiola loves to dream of romance, and has exchanged crayons for a laptop so she can bring Shift into Romance to life. She lets her characters go crazy so they can indulge in paranormal sexy-times between the pages, where alpha men embrace their wild side and strong, independent women learn that muscles and fangs not only help them survive, but also find sensuous satisfaction while doing so.

She grew up a devout tomboy, tackling every tree on the block when Silicon Valley wasn’t even a gleam in San Jose’s eyes. Back in the day, she hit life full-tilt, from barrel-racing her Appaloosa as a teen, to running parkour across the Morro Bay breakwater, to surf-fishing in Hawaii in her twenties, and walking barefoot on the beach dreaming of romance.

Her travels these days are via the interweb's virtual worlds, where she's always on the lookout for that next story, that next place to bury the body. Or lock lips with an uber-alpha, muscular man who knows his way around a woman’s body and embraces feminine strength and all that entails.

Every experience garners even more fantasies for her characters, whether she’s crafting men with a wolven-self, or there’s a bear roaring to burst forth and claim his mate. Who knows, maybe one day, IRL (in real life), she'll find her own man with a wild-side whose abilities include kissing her ‘til she forgets her name.

She kicks-ass, takes names and crafts characters in the beautiful Portland Metro area of Oregon, where she cohabitates with her amazingly talented son and equally talented daughter-in-law, and their most affectionate cat Nudge.

Visit Fiola from time to time in her virtual corner of the world, where sexy men and women misbehave while she weaves them into stories, and if you have time, pop over to visit her alter-ego, Gemma Blake. See what she’s been up to, maybe drop her a line!

I thought Mine to Love (Quicksilver Garou: Lost & Found Mates - Book 1) was going to be your run-of-the-mill love story. It is anything but typical, where instalove on steroids meets action, drama, and suspense.

The storyline is built upon part myth and legend of the Garou, a supernatural people descended from wolves. The rest is paranormal, supernatural action, sexy romance, drama, suspense, and mystery. There is also an edginess as the Garou hunt for the psycho kidnapping, experimenting, and torturing the Garou and their Cinnabar Twin mates.

The characters in this kick-off to the series are compelling and a bit mysterious, which keeps you engaged. Carrick, along with his brother Reese and friend Dak, all Garou, finds Nia, Carrick's mate, via unlikely circumstances. These hunkilicious men are the stuff of sexy fantasies. Nia is an intelligent and athletic kick-butt kind of woman who refuses to be a victim. There are many more stores to tell and mates to find as the Garou seek to free the Cinnabar Twins and fellow Garou held in captivity by the evil Dr. Denton. I truly look forward to reading the next book in the series.

Carrick and Nia's Mating . . .

Carrick was certain he would never find his mate. Then he met Nia who had been kidnapped, experimented on, and abused by Dr. Denton in his quest to manipulate their DNA. Her sister had been killed. Now Nia lives for revenge, but is still weak after her own experience. Carrick has a strong attraction to her and his brother tells him she is his mate! But she is not healed yet. She is not ready for a mate, not until she gets the revenge she is seeking.

Carrick and his brothers have committed to find and free the others who have been captured. But Nia insists on going along. Will they let her risk herself in her weakened condition? Would she mate with Carrick to gain the Garou attributes that could give her strength and speed? Or would Carrick refuse, knowing his intended lifemate didn’t want him and was only using him for her mission? Because they would be permanently linked physically, mentally and emotionally forever. He left the decision with her, but his heart was breaking.

i wanted to love this story, but after a couple of chapters I lost my interest in reading any more. We start off meeting Nia and her companion Max the dog going home from somewhere. Work or what not? Anyways, Nia doing a good deed got herself noticed by the kidnapper who took her and did experiments on her. Now his search is over. Nia meets Simone and her young infant daughter Rachel. But, in the next few hours Rachel is being abducted but not taken away in a vehicle just yet. Nia stops it but gets injured in the scuffle. When the paramedics come to Simone's aide it is Carrick and his brothers, first to respond. Carrick sees Nia but gets a strange feeling and can’t look away from her. But why is he having this reaction to a stranger? But, also, why is Nia and Simone in danger? Why are these two ladies linked to Dention? Nia has a hatred for Dention. Anyways, what will happen between Nia and Carrick? Will they all be able to help one another?

Carrick, his brother Reese and friend Dak, are all Garou, a mythical, supernatural humans descended from wolves. When Nia practically falls into Carrick's arms, he knows he has met his fated mate. Nia ws captured, experimented on, and abused by a doctor trying to manipulate her DNA. The same doctor killed her sister. Nia wants revenge and as a intelligent, tough, strong women, she is determined to have it, but still recovering from the drama suffered while in captivity. Carrick, Reese, and Dak are going to free the others being held by the doctor and his minions, but Nia insists on going with them and she isn't interested in a mate until she gets her revenge. This book is well paced, steamy, compelling, and well written. Solid read.

Carrick has been raised with stories of how it use to be for Garou, and how they could find their mates, but unfortunately that is not the case anymore. Although maybe things are about to change, when Nia crosses his path, and breaths hope back into his life. Can he convince her that that should stay together? Or will Nia just be with him for the wrong reasons? I enjoyed this interesting tale, and Nia might be physically weak but she is certainly mentally strong and determine (and certainly someone to admire). Both Nia and Carrick were easy to like, although sometimes a bit frustrating with some of their decisions.

Draws you in.

The garou have been looking for their mates for centuries and when Carrick finds his, he has to go slow in claiming her. Nia has been imprisoned and abused by a doctor on a mission to alter her dna. Nia has only one wish and that is to take down Denton, the doctor. You feel the emotions that Nia has and it draws you in to want to see what is going to happen next when Carrick decides that he doesn't want Nia on the mission. Loved this book and will read the next in the series.

This is an action packed story with a cast of strong characters and an intriguing story line. The author brings tons of drama and suspense in this supernatural/paranormal romance. She brings the story to life with her detailed and descriptive writing and delivers a terrific story. I'm looking forward to the next book.

A slightly different take on the fated mate synopsis but definitely worth the read.
Nia is living in hiding after escaping a compound where a number of people...mostly females, were being experimented on. She meets Carrick when he and his fellow Garou hear her call for help after she stopped a kidnapping.
Yes it is an instabam romance but well written with plenty of suspense.
For a bit of background to the female characters please read the authors prologue.

I greatly enjoyed the book. I am always a fan of books that take a beloved but very cliched genre and make it unique. I appreciate that Nia is smart and resourceful. It’s a great change of pace from other stories where the heroine seems totally helpless. Great job!

This is a new author for me. It has all the things required for the usual wolf-mates shifter story. However the development is a little bit too slow for me. I usually prefer to be engaged from the get go, but I have to push myself to go through it. The chemistry in between characters is really good. It gets more interesting towards the middle and the end. Overall I enjoy the story.

I loved how she fought the pull but how he was able to woo her so that she felt safe to trust in it. They grew with each other while we were introduced to a whole new world. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
