Naples seemed like a lifetime ago, but in reality, it had only been a month, a month since Emily Rosen fell in love. After heartbreak and loneliness, she had finally lowered her barriers and allowed a man back into her life. Every day she spent with Gene made her more sure that he was the man for her, the man she wanted to spend her life with.
Gene Bain relished the feelings Emily roused inside of him. They hadn’t known each other long, but Gene was already sure that he wanted to take their relationship to the next level. When their ships reunited in Haifa, Israel, Gene was ready with a a plan involving a ring.
But despite the love growing between them, Emily and Gene were already married... to the Navy. With new mission assignments in hand, Emily and Gene would find themselves separated again, forced back into danger. Would their love survive, or would they be lost at sea?
This is the second book in J.E. Adams’ Always and Forever series. The story can be read on its own, but works best when read after the first book in the series, In the Stars. Across the Sea is a full-length military romance featuring steamy scenes, committed love, and no cheating. Happily ever after is the mission.
JE Adams was born and raised in a small town in Northern Illinois. Currently residing in the beautiful mountains of Northeast Georgia. Creative thoughts seem easy to come by from the scenic backdrops of nature’s finest to the rural countryside that invites one’s soul to freely explore all that nature has provided.

Plenty of naval jargon to keep the military side of things going, but also soft and cute when the characters write love letters to each other. It was an easy read with enough steam to keep these two moving all ahead full.
Under the Blue Sky Always and Forever Book 3 by J.E.Adams coming February 7, 2022
An enlightening glimpse of US naval life on board a destroyer. I enjoyed learning about life on board the USS Caron and the USS Yellowstone. This author's detailed attention to the everyday events and banter between the serving men and women of the US Navy gave us a real feel for the camaraderie and tensions inevitable when corralled together in comparatively close quarters. Throwing us into what happens during a crisis provided a fascinating view of the calm and efficiency with which these military operators deal with danger. Add to all of that the minutiae of the gentle relationship developing between the two main characters, Gene and Emily, with an action-packed crisis leading them to face their first real challenge as a couple, and you've got a very readable story. The author makes much use of dialogue in his storytelling displaying a skill for writing plausible conversation.
The book didn't absolutely grab me - perhaps rather a lot of dialogue and storytelling through it for my tastes, and it should be noted that military romance is not my usual choice, but, never-the-less an enjoyable read and a worthy second book. I would read more from this author.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This is the second book in the "Always and Forever" series.
The story centres around two ships in the US Navy, both are docked in Haifa, Israel. On USS Caron is Gene Bain, a specialist in gas turbines who had led an undercover operation to prevent a serious terrorist attack. On USS Yellowstone was Emily Rosen, a tall red haired engineer and the love of Gene Bain's life.
This story is an action packed romance, Gene and Emily are targets, the Israeli Defence Force are determined to protect Emily and Gene as they spend a romantic thank you break in Israel , the IDF even provided a tour guide but someone knew their movements and their lives were in danger.
This is a lovely romantic story, giving a good insight into life on a US Navy ship, i'm not sure about the rhetoric between Emily and Gene, the constant use of "my dear" and "my love" seems a bit old fashioned even for the 1990s.
As the first book, this story is not exactly a cliffhanger, it does have an ending of sorts but obviously leading to the next book in the series.
I received a free copy of this book and my review is voluntary.
This was a great conclusion to Gene and Emily's story. The story is well written, the characters are dynamic and I felt like I really knew them. The story is a little sweet, a little sexy, and a whole lot romantic. A must read for military romance lovers. Looking forward to what Adam's comes up with next.
I really liked this one so much more than I thought I would. There is even more happening with Gene and Emily. You'll find plenty of action, twists and turns plus a side of romance in this one. It's a fantastic read that I really enjoyed.
The great plot was professionally written, and the characters were so well developed that as I turned each page the chemistry of the characters and the mystery of the story kept me totally hooked until the very last page!
This is about Gene and Emily who are both in the Navy. I love how the author told of life on a Naval ship and the language they use to communicate . The story was good, just a little too much technical stuff, but otherwise very good. Enjoyed their personality and how dedicated they where .I received a free copy of this book and I am voluntarily leaving a honest review.
Across the Sea is about two Naval Officers finding each other through their travels. Emily has gone through the fire when it came to relationships so she wasn't looking when fate stepped in for her, and she met Gene in Naples, Italy. They were getting closer in a very short amount of time, but once you sign on those dotted lines, the military owns you no matter what. They are about to cross paths again & this time Gene is going to get his girl, but that whole military owning them is in play when both are sent on missions that will have them apart again, and it's dangerous to boot. I was in the Army back in the day, so I totally understood a lot of the technical terms (even with it being the Navy as my father was a SEAL) so the story came off realistically for me, and I felt their emotions like they were my own. Across the Sea is a story steeped in fate stepping in, so you really want to see how it all plays out as it fills your heart up, and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
Okay so this was a quick read. Although this book started a little slow, there was more plot to it.
The first part of this book was mostly based on the romance between the two main characters. In this part not so much happend but you got a little sneak peak at what would happen later.
The last part was a little more action based, the tension builds slightly up but not as much as if the clues where given more hidden.
But I have to say this book was better than the previous one. I also fell more in love with the characters😅
I really liked reading this book and I am looking forward to read what will happen next.
Last but not least I want to thank the author for providing me with an copy of this book.
