I could not put this one down. Read it in two days. I fell in love with Egan and Isabel and especially Mo. If a dog can steal the show In a book, that is some dog. But seriously, well written, action driven, and it will make you never want to see this series end. I can’t wait to see what is next.
I love all of the book from KSI. This one however was my favorite, because it was from a woman's POV. She was very guarded and protective, which made finding love a sweet experience!
I've only read two of the books in this series, but this one is the best so far. Isobel has always been intriguing as a character so this glimpse into her personal life was satisfying and heartbreaking as well. Though I wasn't sure that Egan was the right man for her, he grew on me by the end of the novel. I'd like to see more of this couple in the future because I think Egan needs more fleshing out. All in all, I thoroughly enjoyed Knight's Holiday. Another success for author Shelley Justice!
Another great book from the series and this Author. Great characters and story line that grab you from the very 1st page and keep you interesting until the very end. Looking forward to more from this author
This book is a first for me in many ways: my first holiday romance, my first female lead character, my first investigator and non-team member to feature in my Knights of KSI series, and my first canine character. I love how KNIGHT'S HOLIDAY came together. Isobel Garcia is an investigator with Knight Security and Investigations, but she steps in to help out with the two covert ops teams employed by KSI. She has been a mysterious but fierce character up until this book. In KNIGHT'S HOLIDAY, we learn more about Isobel and what makes her tick. She's been through so much that has shaped her into the person she is. It drives her decisions and everything she does. It's the reason she fiercely protects those she loves while keeping herself closed off to them.
Of course, that changes when Egan O'Connor lands on her doorstep, hurt and anxious to find his missing brother, who attracts trouble like a magnet. Egan is a successful doctor who operates his own medical clinic. He's devoted his life to caring for others, and he owes his older brother his life. So when Teague fails to check in with his family, Egan attempts to track him down, but there are people who don't want Teague found.
This story takes place in a remote cabin outside the fictional town of Stonewick, Vermont, which is also the location of a brewery. The brewery plays a significant role in the plot of this book, and it was fun to do the research I needed for the book. The cabin was passed down to Isobel from her grandparents, and it has become her retreat (or hiding spot). But Egan's presence dredges up new truths of the small town she's come to love, and these truths taint the few sweet memories she has.
Isobel agrees to help Egan find Teague, but the most they look into the town, the brewery, and Teague's disappearance, the more they realize all is not what it seems.
KSI Alpha Team member Griffin "Wings" Tyler, who's only been a secondary character in the previous books in this series, joins Isobel as she helps Egan find Teague, and readers will get a good look at Wings' personality and the cool friendship he has with Isobel. This book also includes a lovable look at Isobel's companion, her German shepherd, Mo.
The plot and the characters of this book took a turn I wasn't expecting, but I love how this came together. The cover is beautiful, and I hope readers find the story just as touching and beautiful.
For those who read KNIGHT'S HOLIDAY, I hope you enjoy it, and I hope you take a moment to leave a review so others know it's a book you enjoyed. Thank you for your support.
Isobel and Egan are everything I could ever want in a couple. Passionate, considerate, loving, and accepting. They face the toughest situations to be together because it's right for both of them and what they need. This HEA is absolutely my favorite of Shelley Justice's stories (and that's a hard choice because I love the whole KSI series!) But, this one was nothing short of perfection. Every emotion comes off the page and settles in your heart while you wait impatiently to see what will happen and how they'll be together. And in the end, you're rewarded with the best example of a romantic suspense story. This book is a definite reread for me, which I hardly ever do. Can't wait to continue the series!
Book 5 of the series and my first so a standalone. The secondary characters are so interesting that I will be reading more.
The h's life is unraveled slowly. You'll get the feeling she is going back to her grandparents cabin to relive memories of happier times. But was it happy? She's kept her personal life from her coworkers because she doesn't want to share. Personal life should be separate from her professional one.
The H is a doctor trying to locate his missing brother. These two are thrown together, along with the best pet Mo! She is slow to trust but slowly shares with him what she hasn't shared with anyone. Romance builds very slowly and you are not sure if they will get their HEA.
I wanted to know was the General Store owner in on the happenings of the town? Story is filled with suspense, some violence, intrigue, twists and great main and secondary characters.
This isn't my usual genre, I'm more of a Historical Romance gal, but like to change it up and this was perfect.
No cheating, no cliffhanger, HEA, romantic, lovemaking outside of marriage-heat level 3 out of 5. Sweet epilogue 2 months in the future.
I can't improve on the blurb, just giving you some extra tidbits to decide whether to purchase. I love when I find an new author! (ljb)
I have thoroughly enjoyed each and every book.in this series but her story was so touching. Yes, it had the intrigue, the good guys and bad guys, some really bad stuff going on, bad cops but a lot of love and a great dog! Izzy's life story was really very touching. I have to say all the characters personalities are so believable, you just have to love all of them (the good guys, not the bad guys). Written by Cindy :)
I love it when I discover a new (to me) author and I can read right through their series. I love this book. It has the characters I have loved plus some new ones. I love their comradery, their intelligence, their strength, and their depth. This book is full of mystery and action. And I'm so glad it has a happy ending!
This was the first of the series to show us the real relationship between coworkers. I loved seeing how KSI partners were outside of the work environment. The spunkiness and fighting like brother/sister. It showed a whole other side that I liked seeing. And who doesn’t want a Mo!!
Up to this point in the KSI Series we've learned very little about Isobel Garcia. So getting to know her in Knight's Holiday was a treat. She's one heck of a tough woman. Tough, seeminly fearless, talented, decisive and somewhat closed off. Few get really get close to her and even those who do, don't really know the woman beneath. All Egan O'Connor wanted to do was find his brother and make sure he's okay. Instead he stumbles into something that nearly costs him his life had it not been for Isobel's rescue. Her hopes for her normal holiday respite where she induges in nostalgic memories are shattered when she finds a handsome redheaded man face down in the snow. Not knowing whether he's friend or foe has her exercising caution but getting to know Egan somehow starts to crumble the protective shell she keeps around her. When she takes up his quest to find his brother they get more than they bargain for. It may be the holidays but if a KSI family member needs backup, they're there without question. Once the dust settles, Iz and Egan think they'll go back to their lives but the attraction is too strong and making a relationship work is the only solution possible.
