In an Arctic fairy tale, a lazy man's daydreams delight Raven--the creator of the world and guardian of dreamers--who brings the season of light to the man's cold, dark village.
An Inuit tale that takes place back when the world was one long winter. Tupag just sits and daydreams all day while his village hunts fish and gathers berries. Finally, they banish him and he leaves, only to encounter Raven, the creator god…
Usually I don’t like folktales about lazy people who end up getting what they want anyway, but Tupag truly seemed penitent here and ended up finding his place in his village.
