Read this with my 9-year-old daughter. She really enjoyed it and is looking forward to reading other books in the series. I found the book to be a great conversation starter for the two of us. I felt Tomeo went a little overboard with the constant reminders of being "a daughter of the King" and there were quite a few obvious typos that somehow slipped through the editing process. Other than that, an excellent series for young girls. There needs to be more books like this!
