Mayor Morrison holds mandatory galas as a prerequisite to the Inventors Consortium. Both of which are held at his luxurious mansion. The Morrison Mansion. Inventors seek to showcase their latest endeavors, but Mayor Morrison is after their patents. If offering to fully fund their work fails, he throws a fit, and then sends his goons to relieve the inventors of their precious creations. This is a book of four short stories, all in the same world. In the last story, after thwarting Mayor Morrison's attacks, on land and in the air, Fiera, Reyna, and the rest of their friends come together to deal with him once and for all. Unfortunately, he has pulled out all the stops, and the situation at the gala becomes a life or death situation for the whole community. Not everyone escapes unscathed.
Some books make you feel good. In my case, this is one of those books. I enjoyed the short stories, even giggled couple of times. I admire the author's ideas about inventions and - of course - the armored corsets. It was fun, really. Fiera is my kind of girl. I'm looking forward to volume II.
