The Believer’s Journal For Everyday Faith by Kerry Evelyn is a simply beautiful journal designed to help you grow closer to God as you evaluate your faith over a twelve month period.
The book can be started at any time but I shall begin mine on January 1st 2022.
Kerry Evelyn shares her faith journey with her doubts, her struggles and her faithfulness as she has trusted God’s timing and leading over the years.
The book is broken into twelve monthly sections, and then subdivided into four weekly chunks, and then divided into seven daily sections each with eight questions for us to evaluate our successes, failures, prayers, challenges and more.
We are urged to pray and listen to God, writing down what He says to us. We need to spend time with God, getting to know Him. We want to give the first few minutes of the day and the last minutes of the day to God.
Throughout the journal we are encouraged to reflect on the past and project into the future. We are urged to see “the world through a lens of God’s love.”
The book closes with the ‘next steps.’
I found the whole book ergonomically pleasing, being well designed and carefully thought out. The pages are thick and of excellent quality. The colour scheme is soothing in its choice of colours and designs of an underwater theme.
Kerry Evelyn has clearly put her heart and soul into producing this beautiful journal.
With Christmas fast approaching, why not buy a journal for your friends and family this year, to help them navigate their way through 2022 in partnership with God?
I received a free copy from the publisher. A favourable review was not required. All opinions are my own.

This journal is not just a blank journal with dates. It is part devotional like it says in the summary above. You can start the journal whenever you want, it doesn’t have to be January. You start off by completing an Everyday Faith Inventory to see where you can improve in your faith. Then you choose a focus word for the year. The book helps you with this and with creating a vision with goals.

At the beginning of each month you fill in some questions and at the beginning of each week you copy the scripture given in the book and record any thoughts, feelings or reflections you have about that scripture.

For each week,, you can pick a focus for that week and write an affirmation or focus statement to help you concentrate on it all week. Each day there is an AM and PM section to fill out. AM includes things such as My prayer for today or what I’m grateful for. PM includes Successes and Prayer Requests and more.

You continue this way with new monthly questions and focus statements each week. It’s a wonderful way to keep the faith everyday instead of just on Sundays. I decided I’m starting mine in January since it’s almost here. But nothing says dates so you can start whenever.

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review

What an absolutely beautiful book! It is thoughtfully written and organized. It will take you through a year of being very intentional with your faith and your relationship with Jesus. I love how verses are given weekly to meditate and pray on. How you are given opportunities daily to think about where God has shown up for you. It will be a pleasure to spend time in this book all year!

Beautiful from cover to cover. I love the colorful artwork and the layout of the book. The scriptures are inspiring and I’m looking forward to really reconnecting to my faith. I’m also giving two as gifts and I will be starting my journaling in the new year.
