He might be one of the best riders in the world, but she’ll give him the buck of his life.
WOULD YOU RATHER… Go through your entire life without ever falling in love? OR… Have a rough-and-tumble cowboy stomp all over your heart with his sharpened spurs before riding off into the sunset like John f***ing Wayne?
Yeah, that happened. And frankly, I knew better. All cowboys are trouble. I’ve grown up around them my entire life, so I know how they operate. I’ve broken some of the toughest horses in the business. But for some reason, I found this thoroughbred impossible to resist.
A lot of good it did me too. Nothing but tears and comfort eating in the aftermath.
Suddenly, after a year away with no phone calls or texts to show for it, he’s back. He thinks we can pick up where we left off. But I’ve got news for him: His eight seconds with me are already up.
Little do I know, there’s a reason why he’s come back. And it’s the absolute last thing I expect.
Melanie grew up in the Midwest, but she loves living in the Southeast (where the beaches are!) now with her husband and daughter. Melanie's other passion is traveling and seeing the world. With anthropology degrees under their belts, she and her husband have made it their goal in life to see as many archaeological sites around the world as possible.
She has a horrible food addiction to pasta and candy (not together...ew). And she gets sad when her wine rack is empty.
At the end of the day, she is a true romantic at heart. She loves writing the cheesy and corny of romantic comedies, and the sassy and sexy of suspense. She aims to make her readers swoon, laugh out loud, maybe sweat a little, and above all, fall in love.

Oh, how I love this group of girls! Every single one of them from Book 1 to this last book in the Southern Hearts Club had me laughing out loud at times and crying right along with them at other times. I think I might have mentioned in the past that I want to be part of their group/club and I still do! Having said that, I think that's what I love most about this series--the concept that these best friends have each other's backs no matter what they're going through--struggles and successes alike. I adore these women with their diverse backgrounds and careers and as with Sloane, Harper and Gretchen, I was fangirling over Quinn throughout this read. I love strong, brave, smart women and Ms. Munton does an excellent job of creating these well-developed women who are deeply complex as well. As with their male counterparts in each book, I fell hard for Trace right away -- protective, alpha, sexy and sweet -- there were quite a few swoony moments in this one. Add in one tiny, charming little girl by the name of Calli and you've got another 5-star read! It's easy to see why Melanie Munton has become a one-click author for me!
I was so glad to catch up with the ladies of the Southern Hearts Club! I have loved their journeys to love thus far, and this story did not disappoint.
Quinn & Trace's story is hot and fun. I couldn't put the book down - their chemistry was sizzling! I liked that Trace exceeded Quinn's expectations. He was possessive and sweet, with just the right amount of determination so Quinn could give him another chance. Quinn is a strong woman; she's had setbacks, but she's conquered them. Love is a different sort of battle than she's used to dealing with, and Trace isn't exactly the type of man she's used to, either.
I really enjoyed this installment. All the rodeo & bronc riding lingo was fascinating. Calli was a bright star, too, and an absolute sweetheart. All the girls of the Southern Hearts club brought their usual fire to the book - especially Gretchen. I totally loved the epilogue. I look forward to more from Melanie Munton.
I recommend this book unreservedly.
I voluntarily read & reviewed an ARC of this book.
More people need to read this series! It reminds me of my own Ladies Who Brunch but with SO much flare! If you have never read this author, do so ASAP!
I didn't know Melanie could write cowboy romance like this and I loved it! Trace and Quinn's story was one that I enjoyed so much. From the moment they met, sparks fly and chemistry ignites. The tension between them could be felt through the pages. Their back and forth is fascinating. I couldn't stop reading it. And I loved how Quinn is a great influence on Trace's niece. I loved that the previous characters made their appearance here too. I loved this sweet, heartwarming but sexy story.
By far my favorite of the Southern Hearts Club series. Picked it up and read it cover to cover in one sitting. No one is more surprised by the genuineness of Trace than Quinn when he instantly knocks her off her boot-clad feet.
This series rocks! It's no secret that I am a Melanie Munton fan who can't get enough of her sexy rom coms filled with yummy men and sassy women. I guarantee you will fall in love with Trace, Quinn, and Calli as they handle everything life throws at them.
I was excited to finally read Quinn's story. She's a woman who has worked hard to become the best horse trainer around and she wasn't about to let any man tell her what to do. Especially, Trace Marino and his beautiful blue eyes and tight ass. The recuperating bronco rider needs to tone down the protectiveness and jealousy. She's worked around cowboys all her life and can hold her own. But Trace steamrolls into her life, steals her heart, and up and leaves her high and dry with not even a goodbye. One year later, he's back with his adorable niece Calli and he has a plan. Too bad he didn't let her in on it until it was almost too late.
The sexual tension between Trace and Quinn is smokin' right out of the gate. Between Trace's filthy talk and Quinn's no-holds-barred honesty, the sparks fly and the panties melt. Trace is a good man who steps up to raise his niece Calli, after her mother and his sister are placed in prison for drugs. Unfortunately, this all goes down when he finds Quinn who has knocked him for a loop and he has to go back on the rodeo circuit at the same time to make money to take care of Calli. Calli was understandably his priority leaving Quinn alone and picking up the pieces after losing her heart to both Trace and Calli.
Trace has his work cut out for him when he returns to get Quinn back. His heart is in the right place, but his choice to not contact her for a year and then expect her to just welcome him back is naive. I understand he was busy trying to create a nest egg for him and his niece, but leaving without a word would have made me give up on him as Quinn did. What won me over was Trace's heartfelt declarations and endless pursuit of Quinn. The hot ferris wheel scene didn't hurt either. ;)
Trace's niece Calli is a sweet addition to the cast, and it's always a pleasure to see the lovely Sloane, Harper, and Gretchen again not to mention their delicious other halves. You can meet all of these couples in one of the best series I've read: The Divorce Attorney, The Six Month Lease, and The Mix-Up.
Pick up this delightful and steamy romantic comedy filled with captivating and genuine characters who learn that communication is the key to a lasting relationship.
Thank you once again to Ms. Munton for giving me the opportunity to read this book with no expectation of a positive review.
Melanie Munton always exceeds my expectations and that's why every time I see a book with her name I have to read it . The Bareback cowboy is book number four in an interconnected series that can be read as standalone but after reading one you will want to know what happens to the other characters . Each story has its own unique rhythm, its characters come out of the mold although they meet various characteristics of stereotypes and that originality is what has me reading until four in the morning . Quinn works alongside her father training horses on their ranch in Charleston, but at the request of a new client the entire staff travels to the Sunset Ranch to work with the horses of one of the most famous Bareback cowboys in the rodeo world. In the most secret of secrets Trace Marino tries to recover from an injury to get back on the slopes riding broncos. From the first meet, Quinn and Trace make sparks fly and settle into an enmity that flows into something else with the passing of the days and the coexistence. The two share a great Summer until Trace has to get back on track leaving Quinn behind without a Word, a year later Trace is back and Quinn is determined never to fall into his arms again but can't deny the chemistry between them . The story is divided in two and it is really as if you read two books with different endings and in that originality there is playfun, sexyness, rodeos, races, Dolly Parton and Cowboys not to mention the funny characters of the series that do not fail to create a perfect climate for this story . I really enjoyed reading every book in the serie . Thanks to Melanie Munton for give me this fun and perfect reading in exchange for my honest opinion
This book is one of the best I’ve read recently, just a breath of fresh air because it’s funny and snarky but still manages to be hot and sweet. I love the characters and the way they interact and everything about their story. Quinn is a horse training goddess and she knows it. She grew up on the rodeo circuit and knows how to handle smart-mouthed cowboys too, not just horses. Trace is one of the best riders and he knows it, but Quinn is surprised to learn he’s not at all what she expected.
This book is hilarious but it still has heart, which I love. The banter between these two is excellent and the heat is off the hot pepper scale. I loved everything about this story and though this is my first book by the author, I can’t wait to read more because if they’re all this good, she’ll go right to the favorites list. I received a free copy from Xpresso Book Tours in exchange for an honest review.
"The only sight better than you with your legs wrapped around a horse is you with your legs wrapped around me" Squeak☺☺ OH MY GOSH Such Hotness Though I was not familiar with the rodeo terms and had to look up the words meaning Definitely Worth It I had a totally new experience reading this book Trace and Quinn loved both the characters Adored little Callie and her nerdiness at first and then in awe with her racing ability Will be waiting for the Novella 🥰🥰

4.5 stars. I really liked this story. It was a nice blend of sweet, funny and sexy. I liked the main characters and the supporting cast as well. I did find that our H & h had some big issues with communication and dumbassery. Still a very entertaining story, and I will need to check out more of this author's work. Overall, a very good story. *I received an ARC of this book and this is my voluntary and honest review.
Downhome boot-stomping laugh-roping good time! (like I could resist)
This was my first time meeting the girls but I will be coming back to read their stories We start out with how Trace and Quinn met Get to know everyone a bit, build a connection Then wham! The world crashes on our happy hoedown - We jump forward in time a year Old wounds still bleed and resentment simmers just under the surface But we all know the heart wants what the heart wants and there is no taming her
These two together were cataclysmic! The chemistry - The banter - The raw emotions I was a bit mad at Quinn for not immediately melting during a certain scene but a girl has her pride and Trace? He wasn't about to let her get away again
This is my first time reading a Melanie Munton book and it definitely. won't be my last. Quinn & Trace's story grabbed me right from page one and I read it all in one sitting. Wonderful book.
Melanie Munton’s latest release, Bareback Cowboy, will definitely leave you hot and bothered, but in the best way possible…with off the charts chemistry, Trace and Quinn ignite the pages to the point that if I wasn’t reading an ebook copy, the pages would be smoldering! The characters are authentic, the dialogue brisk and captivating, and of course the intimacy between Trace and Quinn drives the story at a rapid pace. This is definitely one story that’s quite difficult to put down once you start reading.
This ARC book was complimentary, provided by the Publisher and NetGalley. I am voluntarily providing my honest review.
Read in a day. Vibes are 5 sexy stars for this cowboy romance!
Quinn trains horses and meets the top bronco bareback rider, Trace, at a ranch for the summer, while he recovers and rehabs after a bad injury. She’s not interested but he can’t stay away. There is a time jump in this book which makes it sort of a second chance romance as well. This story is angsty and addictive. I loved Quinn and Trace! Also, same top notch witty banter I’ve come to expect from Melanie.
I don’t read cowboy stories that often, but after checking out the blurb, I was in. I do enjoy a good rodeo, and the hero, Trace, is king of the rodeo. Well, at the start of the book he isn’t the king, because he injured himself and he’s on a break at a ranch. And who happens to be training horses at this said ranch? The heroine Quin.
I will admit it took a bit for Quin to grow on me. She was rather defensive about a lot—her age, her job, etc. And did come across younger than her actual age. But once the book got rolling, I warmed up to her. She had empathy and kindness towards Trace’s niece, and I do believe the niece was required in this story to soften Quin.
Quinn and Trace have instant chemistry from the time they meet in this story. Trace is a cowboy but sweet and possessive. Quinn is a strong independent woman with no experience of love. The couple gets their second chance. This was a fun, sexy small town romance read.
I received a copy of this book via Netgalley and am leaving a review.
