Basil Gray, CB, CBE, FBA (21 July 1904 – 10 June 1989), was an English art historian, Islamicist, author, and the head of the British Museum's Oriental department.

Basil Gray was married to a scholar of art and lettering, Nicolete Binyon, the daughter of Laurence Binyon, the poet, art scholar and dramatist.

They had five children, including the art historian Camilla Gray.
