After accidentally becoming the centre of a social media scandal, Ivy Hamilton flees her glamorous life in London and comes to Sunflower Street to hide away and lick her wounds. The idea of staying at her elderly aunt’s home doesn’t hold much appeal but she has nowhere else to lie low. IT specialist Zach Ritchie is reeling after being betrayed by a close friend. Following years of moving around with his military family, he'd love to find a place to call home and to feel that he can put his trust in others again. When Ivy and Zach meet, they’re surprised to find that they enjoy each other’s company and the calmer life that the pretty village of Wisteria Hollow has to offer. But they can only run from their lives for so long and soon, their pasts catch up with them. Will Ivy and Zach return to the lives they know or will they enjoy new beginnings on Sunflower Street?
Rachel Griffiths is an author, wife, mother, Earl Grey tea drinker, gin enthusiast, dog walker and fan of the afternoon nap. She loves to read, write and spend time with her family.
My word this series has been amazing but this book is simply the best out of them all it was a brilliant read from the first page and full of starting over again and letting go of the past to move forward and can two people find romance or not. A heartwarming read. Ivy has had a bad breakup from her ex and things have gone wrong badly so she wants to get away and her aunt Tabitha has had a fall and gone in a home she she decides to go and live there and hide away. Problem is when she gets there she is not aware that her aunt rents out the annexe to Zach so she can’t get away from it all. She’s hopefully as he doesn’t recognise her so she starts to fork a friendship and she loves her dog but she goes to see her aunt and some recognises her and she has to explain to zach what has happened. She then learns the press have found her and they want to see her and she tries to hide away and worried she can’t trust zach again but he comes back with the aunt and she tells her aunt everything and zach says it wasn’t him that told the press and he also opens up to why he’s there hiding away. They agree they have come to start new beginnings but can they find romance or not.
This is the 7th book in the series and just when I thought it couldn't get any better than the previous 6 , the author proves me wrong and produces another stunning addition. Loved the new characters Ivy and Zach along with her aunt. Again as in the previous books very easy to read and you get so caught up in the characters and it is pure escapism, perfect in these challenging times. You don't need to have read the previous books in the series to read this as they are new characters to the village with their own problems, however they are all great so would recommend them for a later date. Very uplifting book and if your looking for a great book to read on a cold winter's night I thoroughly recommend this one, where you can escape into a different world and enjoy the story. A full 5/5 stars for me.
The whole scandal was pretty tame in all honesty. It feels like the people involved should be about 10 years younger given their reactions to things that happen. I still can't stand Roxie and I'm glad she was just a footnote in this story. She's the least likable so it makes sense that she a pushy neighbor, even though it's not intended to read that way. After the next book I believe I'm done with this author.
This book mad me very emotional finding out what poor ivyy had been through then to also find out zac hadn't had very good luck in life either. Tabitha has turned out out to be a lovely understanding aunt to Ivy and a fantastic freind to Zac. There outings and ivy learning to cook has just strengthened their relationships. I hope Zac and Ivy can become more than friends. Looking forward to the next instalment.
New Beginnings on Sunflower Street is a great addition to the series. It took me a while to warm up to Ivy though - there was just something about her I didn't particularly like for ages. I've decided I want to move to Sunflower Street but until I do, I'm going to read more of this series!!!
Enjoyed this uplifting story following the lives of Ivy & Zach and their new beginnings on Sunflower Street. Have enjoyed the series so far and look forward to the next chaptet
I love the Sunflower Street series. This book was all about Tabitha’s niece Ivy coming to stay at her house after a mistake she made on social media. She is a social media influencer and her relationship was not going well. She needed a hideout and Sunflower Street was a great place to be.
Being novellas, some of the stories can feel a little rushed, but this one had the perfect pacing. And I look forward to continuing the main characters story!
Another brilliant story by Rachel Griffiths. I love this author books they are so uplifting and happy and cheer me up. Looking forward to the next book.
Loved it This is the first book in the series where it focuses fully on the characters and you don’t read much about the others in the street. We see little snippets but it’s mainly focusing on the friendship blossoming between the new characters on the block shall we say. This book brightened my mood and it brings the comfy cozy feeling
