I am an obsessive romance reader turned writer. An amazing group of indie writers have inspired and encouraged me to pursue this crazy dream and now I can’t imagine stopping. Born and raised, I have always lived in Southern California. I am happily married, with two small fur babies. I love my job as a teacher and wouldn’t want to do anything else. Except maybe be a full time writer. Between reading, writing, and teaching, I have little free time. But in those rare moments I enjoy spending time with my friends and family, binge watching reality television and baking.
Chasin' You was a quick read for me. The story is mostly told in the present time, but there are scenes from the past to help establish the main characters' strong friendship and bond. I thought this was beneficial to the story, as it helped the reader to feel the depth of their connection. However, I wasn't sold on the romantic love between the MCs, Joey, and Adam. I found myself rooting for her to stay with her actor boyfriend, Bennett.
______ TW/CW: "Safety-" both MCs are with other partners while just friends (until about 80-85% into the book). On page sexual content with other people. Car accident/death of a parent (off page; past)
Genre- Contemporary Romance
Tropes/Microtropes- Friends to lovers Medical Professional Hero (ER Nurse) Jealousy
I loved this book. There were so many times that I wanted to smack Jo upside the head. She definitely had to grow and we get to experience her growth throughout this story. She had been through so much and Adam had been through all of it thick and thin. Teri Kay gave us a fun story that I thoroughly enjoyed! This is one that I'll read again. Loved her girlfriends, they were so patient with her and at the same time ,so frustrated. As good friends, they let her know. I reccomend this book, it was enjoyable to read and the end will have you smiling.
