This is an interesting approach to a classic story -- making it accessible for a younger audience in its simple text and vivid die-cut layer-by-layer pages. It's a beautiful book -- lots to enjoy on each page. Obviously the story is simplified and feels a bit disjointed so there are aspects that will feel odd to an adult reader familiar with the story. Pinocchio also has some intense themes that I think the target age range (0-5 year olds) might find troublesome.

I think some young children will enjoy this but there is not a powerful enough narrative to bring them back to it for a second read.
