This is a basic (but not _extremely_ basic) book about coin collecting. It covers not only how to collect, but why people collect, good places where you can collect, and a couple of beginner's lists of what to collect to start building a collection. It talks about American coins, British coins, World coins, and historical coins. It also dips into coin collecting etiquette as well as bringing up the fact that fraud is a possibility. It doesn't, however, give a pricing guide. As stated in this review's title, its a good read to decide if you really are interested..

Intro to coin collecting
My son inherited my grandpa's coin collection and we got this book to rrad together as an intro. The book opens my explaining the history of coin collecting and some basic terminology. This puts together a solid foundation. Then the author gets into what coins are worth collecting and special ones that make things interesting. Overall, we learned quite a bit and are definitely going to research further.
