Emma set up her sister Isabella and Mr. Weston, and they later married. She's determined to also find someone for Mr. Elton the preacher to marry. When she meets her new friend Harriet, she thinks she's found the perfect match. But love and marriage isn't all that simple. Robert Martin, a mere farmer, asks for Harriet's hand in marriage. At Emma's instance, she refuses him. The love complications continue all throughout the novel. Will Emma ever find her own husband?
This is only the second graphic novel that I've ever read, and I quite enjoyed it. I've seen the movie Emma before and it seemed to drag on, and this novel certainly didn't. It accurately reflects the plot line of Jane Austen's novel.
No content warnings.

I didn't like the illustrations. The characters looked bizarre rather than appealing. Also, the author did not use Jane Austen's words to tell the story for the dialogue. Austen's appeal is her superb use of language. In trying to update this classic, the author has created a poor imitation.
