Leaders are trying to bring their best while organizations often put emphasis on results, before people. It doesn’t have to be this way and the answer is here! Becoming a Peaceful Powered Leader provides tools, research, and experienced advice provided to demolish the slag weighing leaders down and become a truly peaceful powered version of themselves. Becoming a Peaceful Powered Leader shares six actionable steps that help individuals own their peace. In this journey, leaders will dive into reflection, exercises and application in the six areas of Becoming A Peaceful Powered Leader. While Becoming a Peaceful Powered Leader is written to connect primarily with those in leadership roles, it is also built to connect to any individual seeking inner peace in their life and provides a method for leaders to transfer the process to their team members. It aims to, and delivers on, solving the problem of needing more time, struggling to stay connected to values, and building engagement in the workplace and beyond!
Jared does an excellent job of weaving together stories from his personal life, corporate experiences, and research backed practices to support the key concepts of his new book. I first had the privilege of meeting Jared for the first-time during Dare to LeadTM Facilitator Certification several years ago. He has continued to impress me with is determination to help others and to make a meaning difference in the world. In writing Becoming a Peaceful Powered Leader, he has maintained the same strong principle and value of impacting change.
While I enjoyed reading the entire book, several key areas stood out to me: * We learn from Jared – his mistakes and his successes. He is vulnerable in sharing lessons that didn’t as planned and reflecting on what he learned. * The focus on gratitude and service to others as a core leadership belief. He not only reinforces the concepts but dedicated chapters to giving them the attention they deserve. Not to give away the whole book, the reflective practice I found helpful was asking ourselves as leaders: How do you open the door to investing in others? How do you celebrate with your connections? * Jared shared the stage with other thought leaders – bringing them in through their research and publishing interviews with several as part of the book. This only strengthened the message throughout.
Thank you for putting together an insightful resource to learn from and revisit!
I would consider this a must read for anyone who is wanting to grow professionally and personally in an introspective way. It is an easy read that is like going to see a counselor and a personal coach at the same time. Narlock includes exercises/questions to go through as well as interviews with other peaceful powered leaders to drive home his points. In the best way, it’s like Brené Brown meets Steven Covey in an inspiring easy but personally challenging read to dig deeper and be the most attune, responsible, empathetic, strong and peaceful leader you can be. This subject matter and content is applicable to leaders across any industry really. It’s a book you could read at several different seasons of life and leadership and gain something different every time. Read it!
I absolutely loved this book!!! Jared was vulnerable enough to share his successes and failures and walk us through these experiences with him so we can learn from him. I learned so much from this book. He shows us how to lead with grace and resilience and to always assume positive intent. Jared genuinely cares about those he leads and that is evident in his writing.
