I should’ve known Hemi and Prue’s book was gon’ be full of drama. Lawd, these two had a lot going on. Hemi is workin’ overtime to get back in Prue’s good graces. After basically saying she was good enough to have his baby but, not good enough to marry, Prue chucked his azz the deuces and dipped. Girlfriend said, after five years, aint no more free milk! That whole marriage feud was cute and all but, the secrets and lies pulled up and said, “Hold my beer.” When I tell y’all the skeletons were tumblin’ out of the closet, the secret tea runneth over, the bombs were droppin’, and the plot twists were twistin’. Baby, the chickens came home to roost because, everybody was hiding somethin’. It seemed like every other chapter somebody was knockin’ at the front door, somebody was getting’ a text message, a phone call, or an email revealing somethin’. The secrets were in abundance in the book. So, just gon’ and grab you a bowl of popcorn and a tasty beverage because, Prue, Hemi, Jasmine, and Gerrell got a secret to tell.

This Family Continues To Grow

It was already a ton of them and they continue to grow and I’m definitely here for the growth. Hemi & Prue came a long way….they had a few things that tested their relationship…but the love was always there.

Ok

Hemi was just silly. My girl Prue knew what she wanted and got it. I enjoy this family and catching up with the other Leota's.

GOTTA LOVE THOSE LEOTA'S

Another 5 star Leota read. I loved Prue and Hemi's story. We got a little of their backstory on the reason why certain feelings were felt in their current relationship. The past definitely has a way of resurfacing and it put their relationship to the test. But with counseling and the love they had for each other, they overcame it all. The Leota family has definitely grown on me. I love how close knit and welcoming they are. Can't wait to read about Five and Hassan. I would also like to see how things with Malo and Corrine turn out.

More gloves

I knew I would like Hemi and Prue story but I was not ready for everything that was revealed! Both had to reveal more from their past and babbbbyyyyy my mouth was hanginggggg lol. Hemi had the best glow up because he matured so much once he realized Prue wasn’t settling and I was rooting the whole time. Small errors throughout the book and a few scenes the author said the same thing but worded it differently lol but I’ll recommend to read.

Hemi and Prue gave nothing but drama at every turn. At one point, I was like okay enough. Granted each conflict was met and resolved quickly. This swiftness helped the story move at a fast pace. It also meant keeping things on the surface as with the previous 2 books. As someone who is not big on romance, it works for me. I liked Hemi and Prue’s relationship. They were truly supportive of each other. There were a few grammatical errors, but nothing to distracting. On Hasaan and Fiva.

Be Patient For our Love

There were so many twist and turns that I was sure I would get lost, yet Mel Dau will ensure you stay with the flow of things. I really enjoyed Hemi Leota and Prue's story.

If blunt had a photo, Hemi would be it. I loved that he said what he thought and really didn't care what you thought of him. I hate that he let his college relationship's demise hinder him from truly giving himself to Prue. His ex, Jasmine, was young and dumb, so I could understand her cheating, I guess, but not telling Hemi that the child she thought was someone else's was actually his. I wonder if her health hadn't declined the way it did, would she ever have told him. Solomon, their son, fit right into the Leota Clan and I love that he already looked up to Hemi, so adjusting to him being his dad was kind of seamless. The way Hemi and the Leota men ushered him in by way of MMA was so nice to read. I'm glad that Hemi already was in therapy to help with the new transition and that he saw Prue as his peace and the calming energy he needed.

Prue proved she was the truth when she called the police when Flemming's ex was trying to kill her. Then, once Hemi truly let out that he wasn't going to marry her, she slipped out of their home and didn't look back; she was determined to be a wife and have a family, not someone's long term girlfriend. Once Hemi realized he'd have to truly man up, I Love that she supported him and attended therapy with him. These two truly belonged with each other. The whole situation with her daughter she gave up for adoption came totally out of left field. I know that her daughter Michelle's adoptive mother Corinne was moving in a way to protect Michelle, but I can see her ways becoming a problem down the road. I hope not, yet we shall see.

I like that we got to see what's going on with Fiva, the youngest of the Leota twins and only girls of the bunch. I hope this new relationship with Hassan will be fruitful and one that helps her to heal.

This was a really good read. Another Mel Dau banger. Highly recommend.

Gloves Off was a whole emotional obstacle course. Just when you think you’ve found your footing, boom, another wave crashes in. That’s been the theme of this entire series and this installment stayed consistent with that intensity.

Hemi is one of my favorite Leota men, hands down. He is who he is and makes zero apologies about it. Blunt, direct, slightly unhinged (maybe more than slightly) but honest about it. Take it or leave it energy. While that can be frustrating, I respect a man who doesn’t pretend to be something he’s not. You can easily move around.

Prue yassssss hunni. She stood on business. Refusing to be a forever girlfriend, refusing to shrink herself to fit Hemi’s comfort zone, refusing to accept what he was offering. Love was not enough to allow her to settle. That alone made her the MVP. She knew her worth and wasn’t afraid to draw a line, even when love was involved. Hemi came home to an empty house!

The surprise teenage kids entering both of their lives added so much depth. It wasn’t just about romance anymore. It was about responsibility, growth and facing parts of yourself you’ve ignored for years. The emotional load was heavy but necessary.

Gerell trash behavior. No notes. Just needed to be said. I can't shake it but Corine is getting a hard side eye from me.

This story really showed that sometimes love isn’t about holding on tighter. Sometimes you have to take the gloves off and fight for clarity, boundaries and self respect. Whether that fight keeps you together or teaches you how to stand alone. Hemi and Prue 🤎 This one was layered, real and emotionally packed.

Ladies and gentlemen, I am going to start this review just like this sit down and start this journey. Mrs. Dau I have been fully invested in the Leota men from the first book, but just when I thought it couldn't get more interesting it does. I thought Naz and Manu had a lot to unpack, but this book about Hemi had ALOT going on. It was sad because one piece of the baggage he didn't even know existed. I was glad when he finally matured up and realize ALL Prue was to him. She was a wife and made sure he knew it. I love how the addition to the family brought out so much love. Both of their past was life changing, but a straight blessing.

This book is just one of this series, and just like the other two it was not disappointing. The way Mrs. Dau make you feel like you know the family. The books are getting better with each couple and reminds you of a good sitcom. You will be anticipating the next book just to see what unfolds next. It was a few issues in this book that wasn't resolved so I know the next installment is going to be 🔥. I am here for it all. It amazes me how other couples just plow their way through. I am looking forward for Fiva and Malo stories, I know they both are coming like a roaring wind.

Challenged love

I was excited to read Hemi and Prue's story after being introduced to the Leota family through Manu.

Hemi had a bold personality, he didn't mince words and was borderline rude when the occasion called for that type of thing. He loved his family and he loved the hell out of Prue and his baby boy HJ. A really terrible situation in college turned him off to marriage. He still carried those residual feelings with him almost 2 decades later. It was now causing issues with his future.

Prue was given up by her drug addict parents, so she didn't have a semblance of family. With Hemi she was exposed to a loving, loyal, crazy family and she wanted all of that officially. With Hemi being hesitant she set out to find a husband even though she only wanted Hemi.

As they decide to really try to make their relationship work they have so much adversity at every turn. It was borderline unrealistic. However, it is fiction and despite that I enjoyed the characters. I felt like the story ended abruptly with too many questions for it not to be a cliffhanger....Did Solomon win his debut fight? Who was Michelle creeping around with? Why did Hasaan kerp his relationship a secret? I mean I want to know more.

I am loving the Leota clan, but lawd there was soooooo much going on up in here! I thought that it would be a knock out drag out, to get Hemi to see reason and marry Prue! I was happy that Hemi finally told Prue the truth about his hesitancy. But, there really wasn't a lot of fan fare with that. It was the damn secrets and skeletons flying that were the real meat of this story! I think I huffed and sighed through my open mouth, with bucked eyes for the last half of the story, with all that was going on! 😂 Jasmine's hiding ass, Gerrell's fboy tendancies, and Corine hmmmmm.... just feel like something just ain't right with her! She was big mad in the beginning, then seemed to be too agreeable about the situation soon after. Watch out Prue! Now Miss Prue was classy throughout this whole thing! There were so many things that could have knocked her off her square, but she took them all in stride! Looking forward to learning more about the Leota family. Come through Fiva! 👍👍👍

This was another good one. Prue had to show Hemi she was not about to play “forever girlfriend” with him; and then she had a baby too. Some jokes just do not fall right, and her hearing him say he would never a man daughter was a cruel. Hemi pulled a real gangsta move on Prue and her date, to show her he was not going anywhere.

Therapy got him through, Hemi talking to Prue about what hurt him helped her to understand his hesitation on marriage. But like the saying goes you cannot base your current relationship on something that happened in your past. Glad things worked out and he married Prue.

Now to find out that they both had a kid in their teen years was quite something. Hemi had a son and Prue had a daughter. The backstory to of these two kids was drama. But they became a loving blended family in the end.

WHOA !

This was so much more than I expected. Following Hemi and Prue
From the last two books I figure this was going to be a quick read about Hemi finally dealing with his reluctance to marry Prue. Well
I wasn’t completely wrong, but when I say turning each page brought about a new surprise.

This love story was jammed packed with real life situations and how people with a sense of family and what’s right deals with them. Some readers may say that some of the situations are far fetched,However, I disagree because many of them reminded me of my own family dynamics. I laughed, I cried, and even gasped a few times.

If I keep writing I’m afraid I’ll give to much away so I’ll say read the book you won’t be disappointed ❤️

Love that Leota clan

Prue and Hemi's story was filled with love, passion, drama and family fun. Hemi knew he loved Prue and told her that regularly but she wanted to be more than a baby mama and girlfriend. Past betrayal and hurt was keeping Hemi from giving Prue the marriage that she and even he wanted. After she moves out and goes on a date he got his act together and made strides to get his woman back. Prue and Hemi's journey to HEA while full of love, and much passion also had much DRAMA. Past relationships and children pop up for both Hemi and Prue and as they navigated these changes and challenges the Leota clan was there backing them up. Looks like Malo and Corrine might have a story brewing and if so I am here for it.

I love this family!!

I have found my new best friend, Hemi is a mess and we think alike so I guess that means I’m a mess too. The three books that I’ve read with him in it made me fall in love with this family more!

Prue and Hemi’s love story started in the last book “the last fight” and continues in this book. They fell for each other hard but some insecurities keep them from going deeper into their relationship. Then came some things from their past that they had to work through and to see it come together was everything.

So if you love sports romances with a big loving family that don’t play about each other and all the drama that comes with life then you are going to love this book.

I love the Leota family!

This series involving the Leota family are phenomenal. It makes me want to find them and connect with them. After the last book I thought oh dear here comes Hemi and Prue. Glad that their love for each other was authentic and genuine because they had to face so many drama as their past collided with their present impacting their future. The blending of their families involving the welcoming of Solomon and Michelle was beautiful to behold. Hemi is hilarious to me especially after handling the serial pedophile Gerrel. Madness!!! Looking forward to the next book in the series. That is going to be wild! Love the Leota family!

I absolutely love these characters! Hemi had me laughing so hard. He is the kind of jerk that everyone loves and appreciates. He's a straight shooter that does not mind stepping on toes--it is what it is and who gon check him?? The scene with Gavin and Gerell had me in stitches!!!
There were so many twists and turns that kept me on the edge of my seat. I totally agree with another reader who said that this series just keeps getting better and better. I cannot wait for Fiva and Hasaan's story...and I'm sure that Malo and Corine have something brewing. Mel Dau can paint a picture and leave readers literally dangling and yearning for more.

great story (slight spoilers)

This was a great story! There was so many moving parts but still easy to follow. What started off as just Pru and Hemi ended with a few new relationships formed and some ended. I will say this, I hated Jasmine’s family and now after this last little comment from Corine, I am side eyeing her. She better fix her comment and fast cause we ain’t playing behind Pru. I felt a little sorry for Jasmine but her gullible self did my boy wrong and the race issue further maxed me out. She was no better than her parents if you really think about it. On to the next book. Loving these Leota men and their women!

Gloves, shoes, socks, everything

Where should I begin? Hemi's story began with him in a relationship with a chick from another race. Then years later, he's in a relationship with Prue. The significance of the first statement will come as you read. Prue and her girlfriend crew, along with Hemi's brother, will be a significant part of the tale. For a minute, I thought Prue and Hemi might be at the end of their rope. Thankfully, we got a reprieve from being sad. The story was 4.75 stars, good with not so many editing concerns to note or take away from the story—a good read.

That doggone Hemi is a whole mess! He has absolutely NO filter which led to some funny moments in this book.

All jokes aside, I really enjoyed Hemi and Prue's story. There was a LOT going on, and I mean a LOT, but that's what made it so good. Every time I turned around, there was a twist, but the one that really caught my eye was the one at the end of the book. I can't wait for the next installment of the Leota family.

The twist that pissed me off the most was the one that surrounded a certain fuck boy. I'm not going to ruin it for anyone but that clown deserved everything that he had coming his way.

So far, this is my favorite Leota story but I just found Naz and Flem's story so I'll be reading that soon also.

It keeps getting better!

Book 3 of The Leota’s now finds us fighting through fear and commitment issues. These men are fierce and petty! Hemi does not disappoint. Prue is a woman who wants to be loved the way she deserves and I’m so glad she is a woman who does not allow Hemi to give her anything less. The twists and turns in this story will keep your guessing and surprised Mel truly has turned up the game with this series! Every story is better than the last!!

Fight to the death!

So ooo much damn drama!!!!!!!! OMG!!!!!!!! I love this series and this Leota family. They never have a dull moment. I almost felt overwhelmed with the arrival of Michelle, but that storyline was bomb! It was so much drama I almost missed the fire scenes...a few more of those would have been perfect! Thanks for this awesome action filled read! I'm still! waiting for Corinne to get handles and clutching my pearls with Fiva and Hassan!!!!!!

DNF!

I was definitely getting into this story and the characters and honestly was excited to delve into the family members buuuut honey....

No ma'am. I TRIED SO HARD but I couldn't get beyond one of the sex scenes. I literally paused and re read it 4 times just in case I was misunderstanding. All I could think about was the consequences if that were to actually happen....at the minimum a UTI.

We can't go from the back door and straight into the front door....we just can't.

This author has become one of my favorite. Love her work. This is Hemi and Prue's story. It touch on their past loves, domestic violence, and the decisions they made as young people and the consequences. The Leota's are all alphas, they protect their family. The wives are not bad either they will give someone the beat down without hesitation😊😊😊😊. Fantastic story. Looking forward to the next book. Kudos to the author👏👏👏👏👏

I'm so in love withe everything regarding the Leota clan!!

I'm sorry but I need a story on all the family members including Corine!! This story truly had some twists and turns in it that added to this love story. Issues that could have broken Prue and Hemi brought them even closer. That ending though!! You can't end it like that lol. All I know is that I can sense that next book is gonna be fire,!!

Love it 😍

I just love this family. Hemi is a fool and Prue is right there with him 🤣. The sisters-in-law don't play and their husbands are no joke either. They hold each other accountable yet they're still supportive of each other. One slip of the tongue can cost Hemi everything. I love the twists and turns in this book. An enjoyable read I just love it. It's always a pleasure reading your books 🥰.

This series is the one

These book has so many emotions attached to it and I was battling through all of them. Pure was the real champ here, she stood in her word of not allowing Hemi to run through her. Then she stood on her nurture of having his and everyone else back. Hemi had to see that he was making the biggest mistake of his life. The diversity her was eye popping. The plots were mountainous it was just Mel Dau at its best.

Drama King & Queen

😮‍💨Hem & Pru, these two were the epitome of drama king 🤴🏾 & queen 👸🏽🤦🏾‍♀️‼️ Nevertheless, “Gloves Off” 🫣🍿was a good read. However, the characters of the Leota family/community/town/tribe🤭 (friends & associates) are/were constantly in motion, either directly or indirectly & still prolific community creators🤷🏾‍♀️. When is there opportunity to manage all these businesses between traveling, weddings, babies & BBQs🤔⁉️
