Love – best felt when overstated. People sing songs about it, write poems about it, and almost any movie you see is about Love. If we all wrote a pledge to it, would the right man receive it? That's the big question Mercy Davis finds herself attempting to answer every day. Can she truly make the right man stay if she followed a series of pledges to love?
Mercy finds herself on date after date to find the "perfect man" after a bad breakup and the loss of her job. Life is a mess, but with the help of her best friend, she sets out to start up her career as a blogger ready to share the storyline of a lifetime. Her friends, Shauna and Brenton, are backing her one hundred percent. Brenton, the one guy who has always been there for her, decides to participate just to make her happy against his better judgment. Unbeknownst to Mercy, Brenton has loved her all of their lives but was too afraid to cross the line and potentially ruin their friendship.
Although Brenton is participating, he knows there is no one for him. Will Brenton find the courage to go after the woman he has always wanted, or will he and Mercy end up with someone they never knew they wanted?
If you haven't read a novel by Iesha Bree, you can expect to read about bold independent women and Smooth, Charming Men ready to mend broken hearts. Each novel penned to heal and show each woman they're worthy of love.
I am an Indie Author! So be on the lookout for that!! Cover Designer, and reader. I have been reading all types of books by many different authors for years and I just love the idea of love so I decided I should share what I dream and hope to have someday! I'm also a military brat, so I always have this itch to travel to a new place that's another one of my passions. I have a book club if you're interested in getting sneak peeks to my new books, as well as participate in deep book discussions, and my character introductions to new series! lookup
First, let me Say that I'm feeling the idea of The Love Pledge. After reading Mercy's pledges and explanations, I liked the idea even more. The thing about love is most times it's been in our faces all along. We just couldn't see past our own perceptions. Always looking for the next best thing when the GREATEST thing is already present. Now, let me get on Parker's hating tail. Gon' get mad because Mercy moved on when he was the cause. Dude, she caught you red handed with a cooch in your face that wasn't hers!!!! She should've killed your B.A! On top of that, your hating tail tried to sabotage what she had going on. Talking about it was a mistake. Then, you tried to come for self esteem and pride by telling her that SHE was the reason she couldn't keep a man. BRUH, you don't know how close to death you were with me. Overall, I'm glad that Mercy got her happily ever after, after all!
Brenton and Mercy, we always tend to overlook what’s right in front of our faces. Glad to see true love wins sometimes. And yup sometimes you have to kiss some frogs to realize you were already in the presence of a Prince. Now let’s her more from Armore and the bff next!
I've read several if not all of Iesha Brees books and this is by far one of my faves. The creative storyline, mercy's bounce back and the fact that love was right in front of her face the whole time all makes for a great book. Good Job and keep them coming!
I love when best friends realize they are in love with each other. Merci and Brenton are perfect for each other. I am glad they finally admitted their feelings for each other.
This Was My First Read By This Author And This Book Was Amazing. Def A Great Read. Can We Get A Book On Armonn And Shauna I’m Excited To Know What Happened With Them. I Love Reading About Mercy And Brent ❤️..
I think the love pledges were good and it's something that I would implement in my own life. I loved Brenton and I was happy when Mercy saw that true love was right there all along. I have read every Iesha Bree book and I must say I can see the growth in her writing and this is one of my favorites.
I wanted to like this one more but it just didn’t do it for me. First, too many missing words that I had to play fill in the blanks every other sentence. Second, not to down anyone who follows their heart career-wise, but come on, a lawyer who prefers writing freelance and then turns to blogging when she’s fired from her freelance gig?! Another thing that bothered me was how little physical description was provided for both Mercy and Brenden. I had no idea how either of them looked besides being told they were both mixed race and that Brenden was Italian and African American. There was also one section - like 2-3 pages - of the book dedicated to Mercy’s best friend Shauna which I thought, cool another story-line, but nope. That’s all we got was a teaser, possibly for a follow-up book?
Once again Iesha Bree has not disappointed me. The Love Pledge was different and I love that about this author, she gives you something fresh and new each time she releases a book. Merc just like most women just want to be loved and show love , even though she was out to sabotage herself She had that support to help out, I was really looking for closer for that other couple, maybe in another book. Great job!
I really liked this book. However, Merci was just a bit too much! Her disposition was nerve-racking. The very fact that she would automatically listen to Parker and not even ask Brent about the situation was horrible and really naïve of her. Honestly, she didn’t deserve Brent’s love. Brent on the other hand is my new book bae. He know he loved himself some Merci. I guess Shauna and Armon will get their own story at some point.
I really loved this story , it was about to people who grew up with each other, each looking for the right man or woman for them., They were best friends from Youth., he knew she was for him, but she had to realize that he was the one for her. If you haven’t read a book by this writer you really should read this book it is great.
Mercy and Brenton’s story is so the fairytale I’ve always dreamed about. That real homie lover friend thing. When you know each other so well as friends that the relationship just flows so right. It’s mostly always the case that the person right in front of is caring and loving us the most is the right one. I loved this book.
Its funny how we label people in our lives. We build relationships, then the one special person, that gives us what we need, we overlook, until the heart is broken and the blinders fall off.
Great story, I loved the man in this story knew exactly how he felt and was willing to go out to insure his best friend got what she needed.
I almost gave up...I was all sucked in and then Mercy did something super childish.....I dont understand why she is so insecure?!?!? Brent has to be perfect for her to be able to love her on secretly. I loved Shana I need story about her and Armonn.
This book was everything and held my attention from the very first page. I love Brent he was everything. I loved merci and was happy when she finally gave Brent a chance. I loved this book hopefully we get an update on Shauna.
3.5 stars only because it needs a little editing. Best friend romances are always exciting to read. Loved the titles of the chapters. Hopefully the author is able to get the editing done to get the ratings her story deserves.
This was one amazing love story. I really loved it. This is a must read.To the author it just keep getting better ❤️🩹 each time thank you for sharing.
This book was so darn good and cute at the same time. I hope books come out for every brother because some one special has to be created for Jason. I mean that's zaddy.
This storyline was a wonderfully written cute romance story with excellent character development. I enjoyed and recommend this five star read. Looking forward to reading more from this author.
Another excellent short story and a beautiful couple. Their connection was nice, and the chemistry between them, wow! You need to check this story out and see what I'm bragging about.
Brenton already knew what Mercy didn't. Mercy and her love pledge was great. She didn't know that her love pledge was meant for Brenton. I'm glad they both got it together.
