Everyone must have come across various business tycoons in life but just like one overlook the work of background artists in a movie , similarly in the making of a successful individual especially a business setup ,it involves the sweat and efforts of many common people which is generally ignored. It is a tale of one such individual .
Nyasa despite being a brilliant student is forced to abandon her studies and work as a steward as her parents have been serving the Rai family for decades . Suganya dint recognise her worth and intially mistreat her but soon realizes her blunder and try to make it up so that Nyasa is able to fulfill her dream of becoming a successful doctor as she aspires to be.
The novel is written in quite a detailed manner. The way author has given snippets of the lavish lifestyle of filthy rich people and then tried to develop a contrast with that of the workers and servants who play a crucial role in their overall success is praiseworthy. The emotions could have been portrayed better as a bit of downside for me was less description of sentiments and more about the setting . Also the Lesbian angle in the tale dint work for me at all and seems forced . Had it been showcased purely as a rags to riches story ,I would have liked it more and even it would have been suitable for all kinds of readers of all ages. The cover is really artistic and evoke feelings. I found the title apt as well.
Overall a beautiful book that could have been even better had the LGBT aspect was kept for maybe another tale .

Finding A Measure Of Her by S B Akshobhya is a story of Nyasa. Nyasa's parents have served the Rai family for about two decades, our protagonist is a genuine student who aspires to become a doctor. She is raised in the servant quarters of a society and she is also expected to serve as a steward even though she tried to avoid it a couple of times. I felt really bad for her, such an aspiring mind made to quit her academics. The journey is not so simple, how will she endure everything? As the story progresses many characters are introduced, Nyasa's interaction with the different characters are explained very well. The story is centralised in Bangalore and business tycoons. I found the the book slow paced at the beginning and finally it caught the pace as it progresses.
Narration and character development was interesting. The book was bombarded with details, overall it was a good book. When I grabbed the book to read I was really confused about the title. I didn't understand the connection of it with the story.

Nyasa, a docile daughter, a brilliant student, a good friend, an alluring lover and an amazing teacher. But being raised in the servant quarters in a posh society is a bane and she knew it too. Naysa is ordered to abandon her studies and take up the job of a stewardess. Suganya, the spoiled brat of a rich businesswoman abuses Nyasa but upon realising her mistake tries to make everything normal, will Nyasa accept this generosity and love?
Finding A Measure of Her is a blooming love story between two teenagers threatening to eliminate the shackles of our sterotype society. In this story Nyasa will find the measure of her as she slowly discovers herself again in the embrace of love and compassion. The story runs smooth with occasional change in the plots, though it's a slow paced book the book is too dragy and has quite a lot of unnecessary plots which may cause boredom.
This book has some dynamic characters and some boring ones too but what's interesting is it delivers different kind of characters into a single story. The character development is also good especially the character of Nyasa, her character made me sad and happy and angry too. Though I would love her character more as a strong personality rather than being submissive. Other character sketches are good too.
Extravagant writing style, I prefer bejewelled writing but some remarks were over the top, for example, "the hands were entangled as they were like deoxyribonucleic acid strands". Overall it was a good slow burn book.

"I fell in love with you and not your gender."
🌷The above line was told to Nyasa around whose life the entire tale is weaved. From being the college topper to serving as a steward to discovering her gender preference to achieving her only dream of getting into a medical college Nyasa has different fractions and it depends on us how we measure her and hence the title of the book is justifiable enough.
🌷In this story, we see how a girl who has been brought up under oppression breaks the shackles and finds her soulmate Suganya who acts as her pillar of support in tough times and helps her achieve her dream of becoming a doctor. I liked the character of Suganya to much extent, it's hard to find a true friend and lover like her in today's world. The character development is quite good where all the characters are unique in their respective ways.
🌷The drawback of the story was that I felt it was dragged by making it very detailed and eventually a slow-paced read. Also, the ending was disappointing to me where we can see how Nyasa doesn't take a stand for herself and again throws herself into the shackles of stewardship.
🌷Overall the storyline is very good and the message which the author wants to convey to society is much appreciable and it depends on how we understand it which is hard to put down into words so I would suggest you pick this read up and then let's discuss.

This is the story of Nyasa our protagonist, a simple girl who aspires to become a doctor one day. Raised in the servant quarters of a society where bigwigs of the business world reside, and born to parents who served the Rai family for decades, she was expected to work in the same servitude. Though she avoided it many times circumstances forced her to quit studies and serve as a steward. Will Nyasa achieve her dreams beating all odds or will she continue to be in the servitude ?
As the story progresses Nyasa gets to meet characters with different shades not just white and black but grey as well. How she tackles them in her own way is engrossing. I like the way the author has taken the story forward by explaining in his own way, how the empires of business tycoons are actually based on common people who help them build one.. Since the story is set in Bangalore, I was familiar with the streets and places mentioned throughout, which made me connect to it better and hence enjoyed reading it.
Though the detailed description of the Udbhavana society gives a clear picture of the setting , I feel it could have been shortened a bit. The title and the cover have been chosen to suit the contents , the language is lucid and easy to read. The characters are well placed, and they stay back in our minds long after reading the book.Narration is slow but improves as the story progresses. Overall a good read...

Finding A Measure of Her was a refreshing read for me, it is my first LGBT novel and I really liked reading it. The title really intrigued me and after reading the book, I just want to applaud it for the creativity and appropriateness. The book has a slow pace and it took me some time to settle with the pace of the story and writing style.
The author has paid great attention to the place setting and world building, the story not only has the LGBT angle but also shows the glaring economic inequality which exists in our society as well as the prejudices and perspectives people develop based on it.
I liked the Diary entries at the end and I wonder if I would have liked the book more if it was written in first person from Nyasa's POV because I felt like I couldn't emotionally connect with Nyasa as much as I would have loved to. Overall, I enjoyed this book and I definitely appreciate author's bold move to write a book of an entirely different genre after his debut thriller.

This is a different book from those I’ve read in a long time. The blurb had already suggested that it would be so, and I picked it up because it promised a woman-centric story and an intriguing one at that. I was not disappointed on either counts. The story is refreshingly new, unlike the usual run-of-the-mill ones that we get to read. Also, I liked to read a story set in Bangalore, with mentions of some favourite streets of the city scape.
The story does not begin with the protagonist Nyasa, though, until a while into the book because the setting is explained in great detail – The Udbhavana society. It is a learning experience for readers who may not be aware of the lifestyles of the uber rich of society.
The teenagers seem to have nothing better to do in life than shop in hyper expensive showrooms or worse, light up cigarettes and guzzle booze every hour of the day. The depiction of the inner world, reminiscent of inside information is such that one has to keep reminding oneself that these characters are underage teenagers, blowing up parents’ moolah and not seasoned adults, who earn what they spend.
The lesbian scenes are no different from any lovemaking between a heterosexual couple in love, except that the dominant teenager Suganya is all but sixteen, however, she is shown to possess the wooing confidence and sexual prowess of a middle-aged adult and then some. The submissive protagonist Nyasa being older than her partner adds on to the premise - the tendency of money-power and social status playing as much a role in the equation, as love.
The contrasting divide between the sections of society is showcased with finesse. Education which is a boon and requirement for the middle classes to improve their lives is only another hassle to be endured as a namesake for the rich. The natural tendency of the rich to exploit those who are less privileged as an entitlement of merely being born into wealth, brings out the helpless submission of the latter to the ministrations of the providers. This is well documented in the storyline at regular intervals.
Also, the step mother’s sudden turn of heart in the second half may be a little unconvincing, but highly endearing. It is interesting how characters that have potential to turn grey at any point, end up shining beyond the expectations of the reader.
Overall, a different read with a varied approach towards the quirks and foibles of society, while reinforcing the goodness of human character.

Finding a measure for her book is quoted by S B AKSHOBHYA. It is his second book which i read. Akshobhya always come up with an amazing story which influence some message to all readers.
As we all know that from a medival times every women of our country suffers a lot. They always have to do compramise with there dreams, goals and all. Is it fair with them? what's your suggestion regarding this. Still in today's genereation there are lots of womens and girls who have to abondon her wills for others.
This book is basically based on a young girl Nyasa who played several roles likke a good daughter, virtuous maid, friend, student, lover and many more in her life. But at last she has to suffer a lot.

The book revolves around Nyasa and the turns in her life she came across and the measures taken by her for the same. This book is a YA, Contemporary Lgbtq+ romance story. That potrays Nyasa's self discovery and fulfillment of her dreams, which she thought to be doomed with an essence blooming love in her life she found at the most unpredictable time
Nyasa lives in the servant quarter of Udbhavana, and like her father and step-mother she was suppose to spend her life in the servitude of the elite classes in the aforementioned society
Nyasa has played the role of a dutiful daughter, a trustworthy friend, a brilliant student and alluring lover to being a helping hand to everyone who asks for , everyone wants a slice of her for themselves. But now she is put in the role of being a stewardess for Suganya, a extravagant and spoiled daughter of Mary, one of the richest buissness woman of the society, abandoning hwr studies and aspirations. Suganya initially misbehaves with her but when she recognises her to be one of the seniors of her college who is also a topper she realises her folly and pampered her with gifts to change this bitter start into pleasantries without any apologies. But Suganya also starting developing feelings for her and also wants to restore her dignity and also wants her to complete her studies and get the medical seat she doesn't wants her lady love to be addressed as her stewardess. Will Nyasa reciprocate her love? How will Nyasa be able to fullfill her aspirations breaking the shackles of the Udbhavana society? Read this story to know more
The story is an easy read and also slow paced too which can be easily grasped by beginners. I generally admire strong female protagonist but Nyasa her was more submissive which is ofcourse influenced by the surrounding and position she grew up in where she has always been told her future is to serve the rich but inspite of all the discouragement the fact that she has always given proper attention to studies also showcases her resilience and ambitious quality. I liked the characters of Suganya and Mary. The writing style was easy but at places it was exaggerated with plots that doesn't helps in the progression of story and also some overdramatic dialogues. Overall it was an good , simple and mild paced read.

Nyasa is a girl from Bangalore City who is in her last semester of graduation. Her parents (father and stepmother) serve a millionaire Chintav Rai. Chintav Rai, along with several wealthy families, lives in 'Udbhavana'. Nyasa is a girl who loves books and fairytales. One day, her stepmother comes to her to convince her to work as a steward for Mary's daughter Suganya. Mary was another wealthy woman from 'Udbhavana' who built her business in the men's world.
Nyasa didn't want to drop out so, her stepmom Sridevi agreed to complete her study, but she still had to serve Suganya alongside. Suganya was at least three years younger than Nyasa. They both were studying in Shetty's college. At first, Suganya humiliated Nyasa very severely, thinking she came from a backward environment. But, when she got to know about her qualifications, she felt guilty for her behaviour. Nyasa and Suganya became very close friends. Eventually, Nyasa was appointed to keep an eye on Suganya's activities. But, she forgot it and started spending time with each other.
Suganya had a relationship with Chintav Rai's son Chitkarsh Rai- who was very aggressive and arrogant. He even tried to molest Nyasa several times. But, Suganya was always there for her. Later, Suganya's friend circle realised how qualified Nyasa was. And, everybody started respecting Nyasa even more. Slowly, Suganya and Nyasa fall in love with each other.
Talking about the book's downside, when you will start reading the book. You would find it complex due to the elaborated narrations about 'Udbhavana' and the wealthy neighbourhood. I believe that thing was exaggerated unnecessarily. In fact, I did not find any specific role for that part later on. The author has somehow showcased that wealthy families' children are always spoilt and aren't serious about their studies or careers. It's not an era to generalise such things. Many have already used their potential to achieve success. The narration and language are perfect. Like any other book by the author, the character depiction is on point. Though, I feel that the title and cover are misspelling and doesn't complement the storyline.

•It was my very first read in this category and to be honest, I did enjoy every ounce of it.
•Nyasa, a young ambitious girl who aspired to be a doctor is considered to be the protagonist of the story. Her parents had assisted and looked over the Rai family for ages, hence getting on holding the same expectations from her.
•The book portrays her life in various aspects from being a college topper to serving as a steward. Her life seemed to take a complete turn at the most unpredictable juncture.
•Everything seemed absurd when she excavated her gender inclination. Suganya the daughter of the rich businesswoman Mary, (whom she acted as a stewardess to) seemed to possess deep emotions for Nyasa. •It was my very first read in this category and to be honest, I did enjoy every ounce of it.
•Nyasa, a young ambitious girl who aspired to be a doctor is considered to be the protagonist of the story. Her parents had assisted and looked over the Rai family for ages, hence getting on holding the same expectations from her.
•The book portrays her life in various aspects from being a college topper to serving as a steward. Her life seemed to take a complete turn at the most unpredictable juncture.
•Everything seemed absurd when she excavated her gender inclination. Suganya the daughter of the rich businesswoman Mary, (whom she acted as a stewardess to) seemed to possess deep emotions for Nyasa. As Nyasa's parents have served the Rai family for more than twenty years, their daughter was also expected to serve them. Even though she had escaped multiple times, it became inevitable one day and she was asked to serve as a steward to the daughter of the Hardesh family. Her interest for academics and the expectations Udbhavana has for her are contradictory.

The book title is not so interesting, but what is hidden in the pages behind it is not so. At the beginning, a lot of information is hoarded about the Udbhavana society. Even though an understanding of the society is needed to grasp the book's essence, I felt overwhelmed as I bombarded with a lot of information. But after that, Nyasa's life was shared about. The life of a young girl living in the servant quarters of the place holding the most influential business tycoons in the city of Bangalore was interesting to read. There is a lot of focus on sharing more information and less focus on talking about the feelings of characters. At the beginning of a few chapters and in some dialogue exchange between two characters, the character being talked about or the person who is actually saying the line isn't very clear. So, I had to read some parts twice after the person was revealed. Despite all this, the essence of the book is hard not to grasp. Despite being in 21st century, the Rai family thrusts pointless stewardship upon Sudaiv's family as they served the Rai highness for decades. When Suganya first met her, she misbehaved with her but soon, she realises her mistake, and tried to restore the dignity of the most brilliant student of her college by freeing Nyasa from servitude. And soon, they developed a bond, which was about to change their lives forever. Will Nyasa be able to break free of the servitude? Will she be able to achieve her dreams?
I love reading this book. The characters are well-developed. I really liked the relationships between the characters. The way they stand for each other. I'm quite impressed with the character of Nyasa and her journey throughout. The twist and turns makes it even more interesting and engaging. The cover of the book is attractive. The language used is simple and easy to understand. I would highly recommend this book to everyone.

Everyone has some dream that they want to become something achieve something, like this our protagonist Nyasa had a dream to become a doctor one day. Dreams don't have any boundaries they can be achieved if you are from a poor family too but that was not with Nyasa, she not only belonged to a poor family but her parents had served a rich family as servants for more then twenty years so it was indeed valid for her to also serve them like her parents did.
But she had some other plans with her, she escaped from there many a times but It didn't work at all.
Next side of the story, things clashes with Suganya when she treats Nyasa badly but gradually she finds interest in her as well.
Will Suganya help Nyasa achieve wants she wants to do.
The story has two plots and both are different from one another but both are interesting to read as well.
Coming to the cover and the title of the book, both are attractive and encourage a reader to read it.

The story revolves around Nyasa, our young protagonist who brought up in a servant quarters working under the shades of a posh society. She is not just a normal girl but someone who aspires to become a doctor one day.
But fate had something bad written in her name, as one day she was forced to quite her studies and asked to follow her family's tradition to become as a steward for the rich family. Under such circumstances, she sacrifices her desires and becomes one among them. She gets to meet Suganya, who abuses her initially but later she changes.
The story is about the way fate plays in Nyasa's life who goes through a lot of obstacles. Will she find love in people? Will she be able to fulfill her desires? Is this her destiny forever?
Read and find out the answers! The book cover looks attractive but the title didnt grab much attention on my POV. There were some lackings in between. The narration was actually good. Overall it was a new kinda experience reading this book.

Finding a measure of her, is an immersive story and embodies and incorporates the metaphorical aspects of the title into it beautifully. It touches on the themes of breaking barriers and staying true to yourself and it follows the journey of the protagonist, Nyasa. Coming from a economically stranded background, Nyasa has to face a lot of hardships as well as she gets fewer opportunities to grow. However, she puts her best foot forward and strives to grow as an individual nonetheless.
As a reader I found the plot to be rather interesting and thoroughly enjoyed reading it. Nyasa aspires to become a doctor but as situations unfold she lands the job of a ln assistant cum stewardess to Suganya, a young lady with great economic prospects. The frienship blossoms between them at quite a speed and through their bond the author delves into themes of LGBTQ relationships and an optimistic attitude towards life, both of which are highly crucial to the plot. The author's approach towards these topics is never critical and instills a certain sensitivity in the readers.

The entitling is done so perfect that it will automatically insist you to go forward and have a journey with this story. Nyasa is someone who is expected to play different kind of roles but she also harbours a dream of being a doctor. Sugandha and Nyasa becomes very good friend and they built very good bond.
The story takes very good turn and the life of Nyasa takes ups and down.
Further the story is more interesting and for that one should read the story to know all about nyasa Measure.
Really loved the book and will recommend every one to read this book.

It was my third book by the author and all of three titles Panipuri Crimes is my favorite and this one.
The story unfolds with our protagonist Nyasa, who hails from a poor background lives in a servant quarters of an apartment but her dreams are rich as she wants to become a doctor.
One more character has been highlighted through this book, which is of Suganya, her best friend. Their bond has been portrayed real and strong being best friends, despite both belonging to extremely different backgrounds, they are inseparable.
Will she be able to achieve her dreams and be successful?
The author has also showed different sides of her character through the book especially the phase of being poor.
The book is also vocal about Lbgtq+ community which I really appreciate and in my opinion that could have been a little better. Rest was quite a simiplar and light hearted read.

The story describes the differentiation that happens in our society of High standards and low standards and the discrimination the lower society people faces due to the higher society people through the story of Nayasa.
Nayasa is one of the brightest students who belongs to a poor class family who doesn't even believe in the benefits of educating a child. In fact her parents want her to inherit the same workload they did, serving the Rai family like they did from ages so that she can be a servant instead of a doctor.
At last, Nayasa had no choice other than being a steward of the Rai family, particularly of Suganya cuz this is what Destiny planned for her. Time flew and the bond of the high class girl and Nayasa grew much stronger.
The plot became ten times more interesting here. Though the plot is all set to convey a message by the author. The scenes and scenarios were well described even the characters were well introduced. All I want is you to grab this asap.
