I am always ambivalent about this author (I cannot find out much about her at all as I have wanted to contact her re unforgivable errors in books) and always come across mistakes in her books, which are pretty good in most of the material but there are some huge errors in some books. In this one we have Hermes with Zeus bracketed after his name. Zeus is the father of Hermes. She says Venus has the most volcanoes in the solar system 'which only lends further weight to Pluto's astrological symbolism.' Why does it? 'The only other celestial with feminine energy is the moon, you don't see many heavenly bodies on the natal chart that are feminine as opposed to masculine.' Well there's only moon and venus in the natal chart unless you're bringing asteroids into the equation. 'Venus is debilitated to 27 degrees of Virgo.' I know Venus is debilitated in Virgo and assume she means in Vedic astrology that is the degree of deepest debilitation. 'Virgo belongs to the sixth house of humanity's six sins' - is it not 7 sins? I've never heard of six sins before.
I liked the point about Venus enshrouded in thick clouds making it hard for anything on the surface to see outside of itself, i had a good ponder on that. I also liked the term Venus oversees Taurus and Libra rather than is the ruler of.
There are a few grammatical errors which i don't have time to type out but fewer than in some of her books. Again, she needs a good editor who knows astrology and metaphysical subjects that she covers.

Listened to audiobook version. I wanted to say this would be a good beginner's book into Venus. I was pretty disappointed but tried to remain open and hopeful for the entirety of the book. There are maybe 4 powerful/helpful sentences and everything else felt like a huge eye roll. Cookbook style that spent a huge portion on synastry charts.

Venus in Astrology is a great book explaining how Venus interacts with the other Astrological Signs and Planets. The research was well done and compiled into a book of easy understanding for everyone. I love the way Mari Silva presented the Astrological facts showing the way to understanding oneself and their traits. Another outstanding book.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

it was ok

kinda was expecting more about specific venus placements, like what it means to have venus in a specific sign. while the multicultural element was nice for context, i struggled with relating to the book because it was all over the place. i did get a lot about working with venus. i was just hoping it would have been more specific as mentioned before.

Amazing and insightful read!

Anything that Mari Silva writes on, I am likely to read. She is one of the most prolific and educated authors on occult and astrological subjects of this day and age. This book is SO good, especially for an astrology newbie like me!

AI-generated material full of errors. If you have even basic knowledge of astrology, you'll easily catch them but I'm concerned about beginners who are learning wrong information without even realizing the problems with it.

I've finished the planet series. It was filled with excellent information, and I was able to incorporate my knowledge of signs effectively. Definitely a worthwhile read.
