My life, and my men, all hang in a delicate balance--we have to pretend to be part of the very gang we’re trying to destroy.
I can see it getting to the men I love.
Bash feels powerless with his brother around. Zane tries to keep a cool head. Skylar is not taking well to being declawed. And then there’s Hassan--what I have to put him through breaks my heart.
It’s either this or death, but the situation is slowly destroying us, stripping us of what we’ve fought so hard to achieve. I don’t know if it’s worth it at all, or if I should walk away before it’s too late.
Killing Eve meets Sons of Anarchy in this dark romance reverse harem. This is a dark book that is only suitable for 18+ readers and contains content that some readers might find triggering.
I need more than the 26 letters we have in our alphabet to explain how much I loved this book—to convey how it made me feel because holy sh*t.
Time wise Burning Justice starts a month-ish later where Breaking Justice left off and things are… tense to say the least. If you’ve read the first two books then you know **SPOILERS** that the Knives acquiesced to working with Jez but as this book progresses they begin to actively protest against this so-called cooperation of drugs and trafficking. Verbal fights between Zane and Bash get out of hand, Hassan suffers from severe anxiety and panic attacks, Skylar deflects and represses the whole f*cking situation and Justice feels isolated and it starts to get to her. Sh*t is wild in this one. Again, Clarissa’s writing is incredible and her way of making her characters come to life is spectacularly done. Every single character is multifaceted, intriguing and truly has their own personality—which I think is f*cking dope.
I especially loved how Zane confronted Bash in the hospital about the hypocrisy of him not dealing with his brother but expects that his team does—this scene really stood out to me as Clarissa managed to wring all the emotions out to me. This conversation between them *needed* to happen and it was beautifully done.
As for the smut, spice and everything nice—holy motherdicking hell. That.. that was truly something 🥵 I mean Zane AND Skylar? I needed to lie down—talk about getting hot and bothered. So not only do I have a thing for MMF but apparently also MM. Fascinating.
This book series needs all the hype it can get because right now I feel like it’s being slept on and that needs to change.
Anyways—incredible storyline and the f*cking plot twist! The characters carry realistic traumas and have individual life-like backstories. And the smut? Deserves all the chillies.
Clarissa always just f*cking delivers and I absolutely love it.
🔥 “You’re a delight to look at, pet.” ~~~ That story is off the charts intense and so much is happening here!
Now that the Knives are working for Jez, everything is extremely dangerous and there is a lot of tension in the group. Everyone is dealing with so much - Hassan is suffering from panic attacks and anxiety, Bash is torn between his brother and the Knives, verbal fights erupt, Justice is fighting feelings of being isolated. And, in addition, Zane’s strength was spectacular - he did what needed to be done in order to deal with the difficult situation everyone was facing.
In addition, I loved that we get to dive deeper into their backstories. It was such an emotional rollercoaster. Clarissa writes such incredible characters with admirable strength to deal with everything life throws in their way!
Even more, the book is not just steamy… It’s “it’ll-set-your-tablet-on-fire” hot and I especially loved everything that happened between Zane and Skylar - it was spectacular!
Finally, holy sh*t that plot twist! I absolutely didn’t expect that!
Overall, the story is another magnificent addition to the series. It’s filled with danger, suspense, insane plans, difficult decisions, action, sizzling romance and wonderful characters.
I absolutely loved every page of it and, with that ending, cannot wait to see what happens next! ~ I received an advance copy of this book and am very happy to leave a review.
A deliciously dark reverse harem romance filled with dark some may say disturbing themes, dangerous and twisted but hot alpha males, a feisty female lead character, sexy scenes with plenty of different elements, punishment, secrets, mystery, action, twists and turns throughout and a happy for now non cliffhanger ending. A gripping read, brilliantly written, fantastically developed interesting diverse characters with amazingly strong sizzling chemistry, looking forward to reading book 4. I loved reading this third book in the Miami Knives series by this brilliant author and I cannot wait for my next read.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I liked the idea of this story, and I liked the characters. This story could have been a little bit shorter if some things hadn’t been repeated excessively. It was noted early on that one character had been through a large amount of trauma that would lead him to be triggered in the future. I just don’t think it needed to be said over and over again that he didn’t need to be there in the situation they were in. It is obvious all these characters are stronger together than they are apart as they each bring something to the dynamics of the group. It will be interesting to see where the story takes us in the next book considering where everyone is at the end of this one!
This is a continuation of Book 2 and picks up where it left off. I really think you need to read the books in order to fully comprehend what is happening and how the characters relate to each other. This book occurs almost entirely in a hospital and there isn't much action, its a lot about how they relate to each other and their past interactions with Jez, Bash's older brother. This book dragged a bit for me but there is a ton of steam with sexy bits occurring in the least opportune moments (there is some MM in this one) and it is mostly one on one action between the characters, no group love in this one. It does end in a huge cliffhanger.
I don't want to give anything away. This is part three of this series and it ends in a cliffhanger. This one has your hot and steamy hook-ups with Justice and her boys. There are surprises that keep popping up throughout the story. Some twist revealed, one interesting ending. Great story, can't wait for the next part to find out how all this is going to play out.
I received an ARC and volunteered to leave a review.
