From the Trenches with Love
Growing up in the hood, Yosan saw a lot, and he heard a lot. He learned early that life was never supposed to be easy for people like him. He had it hard until his mother did what she had to do. Life was sweet for a hot second, before she was ripped away from him. All in the name of trying to give him a better life. Yosan learned that there is no easy way out of the trenches, but for those lucky enough to escape, life can become heaven on earth. The consequences...they can be hell though, and he learns that the hard way. One obstacle after another threatens his sanity and he makes it out of every one of them head held high standing ten toes down but Jakayla.....that's the only obstacle that he might not be able to conquer. If he had it hard then she had it rough. Like him, all Jakayla knows is pain, and hers runs deep. They become the best of friends, and Yosan would rather die than hurt her but sometimes.... hurt is inevitable. In the trenches only the strong survive and there is no room for love, unless the impossible occurs.

Lawd What a ride!!! I don’t think I’ve ever read about a character getting beat tf up mentally and emotionally the way Jakayla did! I mean Natisha would not let her catch a break this entire story and I’m not sure how I feel about that.
Jakayla had an extremely rough life! I don’t want to mention all that she went through but whatever you may think could’ve happened to her, it did! Even when Yosan came along and was her night in shining armor, life was still beating Jakayla tf up!
Because this pretty much was exposed on page one, it’s not a spoiler for me to mention that Yosan ended up doing time in prison and let’s just say that those 8 years were not kind to Jakayla…. Y’all I’m not exaggerating!! When I say this MFC went through it, she went THROUGH IT! I had so much anxiety reading this story because I was just waiting for the next shoe to drop and man they were dropping like rain drops during a thunderstorm.
Idk how I feel about holding down a boyfriend for 8 years in prison. I was honestly conflicted during this part of the story because on the one had I do feel like Jakayla owed Yosan her loyalty after the way he was riding for her pretty much since day one. If there was no one else she could count on, it was Yosan. But on the other hand, she was young and 8 years is a long time to expect someone to wait. Now I will say I was shocked by how quickly Jakayla moved on however Yosan wasn’t a saint in this department either and I understood Jakayla’s codependency coping mechanisms. I do feel like Yosan had the right to be in his feelings tho.
This was a rollercoaster of emotions and I need to read a “recovery” book after this! Lawd this was a lot! I really enjoyed this book but y’all gotta read at your own risk! I don’t need nobody coming for my head!

Another hit
This was such a good story. Jakayla went through so much heartache, I was feeling all her pain. Yosan was the perfect man for her, too bad he got caught up. After all the adversity Jakayka face, I’m glad she got her HEA with her true love.

I have always loved the way the author told stories. It didn't matter if they were stand alone or series, I have always found some real in them. When your people go to prison it's hard not to leave them and not everyone understands how it can be. Yosan treated Jakayla like her man was supposed to treat her but she couldn't handle that pressure of being alone while he was in. She has already lost sooo much than with him gone it was only worse. She had a hard time with what she was searching for and it showed in the way other men treated her. I am glad that she was able to get herself together. She needed that in order to be the person that she can be proud of.

This book! This book! This book!
I just don’t even have the words! I read this book the minute it became available on my app. Didn’t plan to stay up all night reading but I started and didn’t stop until I read THE END. This book was so emotional. The thing about this author is that she always pull at your heart strings and tells a good story. Her books get better and better and at this point, reading the synopsis makes no sense because I’m reading regardless! Another stellar job! Five stars aren’t enough!

This deserved more than 5 stars
Natisha you’re a beast my love. I’m not sure if this is your best work, but it’s in the top for me. OMG, I loved me some Yosan. He was so busy trying to help everyone around him and put them before himself until, he was just depleted. I hat he got sent away, but he needed that time to focus on no one but him. I was so mad with Jakayla for being with Lux I did f know what to do. Like you didn’t last a year. When my baby stepped back in the scene it was a wrap he got his lady and she got the love they both needed and deserved.

What an awesome
I loved the chemistry between Yosan & Jakayla he stood by her during the most difficult of her life he was a darn good man . I loved the fact that he told her not to put her life on hold for him but then tried to dish her once he came home. I really liked them as a couple and was so glad that he finally realized that they were meant to be together. This author writing game is on point and I loved every book that I've read by her

Yosan treated Jakayla right, but being without him was too much for her. She had already been through so much, and his absence made things worse. You could see her pain in the way she let other men treat her. I’m glad she got herself together in the end. She needed that growth to become someone she could be proud of.

The absolute best ever!!!
Mannn, I honestly don't know what to say because Yosan and his story was EVERYTHING!! This story really had me going through some serious mood changes. I was scared, mad and I swear I had anxiety for days and I only started the book yesterday. Yosan was one of the realest ever to be wrote about and I honestly don't know how you can top him.

Yosan had the patience of Job
To be so young, he was so patient, passionate, and knowledgeable. In a perfect world Jakayla could have waited, but she would have never gotten to experience life like she was supposed too. As for Gerald.......yep there are a lot of Gerald's in the world; just sad AND pathetic.

Loved it. Yosan and Jakayla i tell you they both didn't have it easy but they made it work. Renetta was so hard headed but she didn't deserve what Gerald did to her. This book really had me in my feelings big time. I enjoyed from beginning to end keep bringing the heat so I can keep on reading them.

Another Natisha Raynor hit. She wrote the heck out of this book and had me crying each and every time that Jakayla took a loss. I was sick when I thought that Yosan wasn’t going to take her back, but she finally got her happily ever after. Great read.

This was a good read and I loved how Yosan loved Jakayla. I’m glad they found their way back to each other and that they loved each other enough to not make their relationship toxic. This was a must read.

I enjoyed this great read. Yosan and Jakayla were two people that were destined to be. I felt so bad for her because she went through so much. The storyline was so good definitely kept my ibterest.

Yosan was a real even though he was a young one. At 18 he made common sense than his father. Jakayla made the mistake of not knowing her worth because weak men prey on women they think are weak so they feel like they have control over something🙄
