MacFarlane provides a British perspective on the ethics of university teaching, without philosophical jargon. He created fictional cases that raise ethical issues, and he used these cases in professional development workshops for university faculty members. In his analyses of the cases, he includes ideas from the workshop participants. He concludes with an approach to the ethics of teaching that emphasizes professional virtues. On the whole, it was definitely worth reading and reflecting on.
