Letters on Yoga encompass all life and deal with such topics as the object of Integral Yoga, Synthetic methods, basic Requisites of the path, The Foundation of Sadhana, Human relationships in Yoga, Visions and symbols, Experiences of the Inner and the Cosmic Consciousness, to name a few
Sri Aurobindo (Bengali: শ্রী অরবিন্দ Sri Ôrobindo) was an Indian nationalist and freedom fighter, major Indian English poet, philosopher, and yogi. He joined the movement for India's freedom from British rule and for a duration (1905–10), became one of its most important leaders, before turning to developing his own vision and philosophy of human progress and spiritual evolution.
The central theme of Sri Aurobindo's vision is the evolution of life into a "life divine". In his own words: "Man is a transitional being. He is not final. The step from man to superman is the next approaching achievement in the earth evolution. It is inevitable because it is at once the intention of the inner spirit and the logic of Nature's process."
I cannot even begin to say just how indispensable this book is for any sadhaka who is earnestly seeking the divine.
Excellent book! So many doubts and challenges that a sadhaka might face are addressed in book! I found a million questions in my head answered just like that. And I haven’t even finished reading the book yet but still felt encouraged to come and type in a review on it here.
The thoughts on “faith” are so profound and so reassuring that even one facing the most difficult trials in his spiritual journey ( with many hostile forces against him every single Day) can begin tasting the possibility victory on this arduous journey of self-realisation.
Excellent book!
Highly recommended for any earnest sadhaka.
The volume 1 of it is as good and useful. I have yet to read and review “volume 3.”
