Living in a secluded area of Alaska isn’t exactly conducive to finding a mate, not when Braden’s bear has no interest in any of the local females. Resigned to living the rest of his life alone, he spends his days fishing—his greatest pleasure—and working at his family’s tackle shop. His content enough existence is disrupted when his cousin, a male intent on searching for his mate, tells him they’ll be spending their next vacation at a dude ranch in Wyoming. One that caters to shapeshifters.
Never mind that Braden has never traveled out of state or that he knows nothing about horses. It’s a little hard to say “no” when his envious male friends think it’s a great idea and he finds out his soon to be ex-cousin used his credit card to pay for the non-refundable trip.
For Casey, having to run her family’s vacation ranch after her father’s death is difficult. Dealing with the owner of a rival ranch who is determined to ruin her business even more challenging. Add in the possibility of losing her home because of some crazy stipulation in her father’s will, one which requires at least one of his daughters to provide proof of a husband by a specific date, and things get much, much worse.
With time running out, Casey has no choice but to accept the help of one of her guests. The handsome stranger has intense dark eyes, a drool-worthy body, and happens to love fishing as much as she does. Best of all, he wants to be her groom, so what could possibly go wrong?
Rayna Tyler is an author of paranormal and sci-fi romance. She loves writing about sexy alpha heroes and the sassy heroines who turn their lives upside down. Whether it’s in outer space or in a supernatural world here on Earth, there’s always an adventure filled with suspense.

But Mr. Dwight told others her business like what was in her father's will. Now would be the time to get the book. I will be getting more from this author.
Okay, pardon me while I do a bit of gushing here. I absolutely loved this first, introductory story in the ‘Crescent Canyon Shifters‘ series. Braden and Casey were perfect for each other from that first meeting and that fact was proven over and over again throughout their story, ‘Engaging His Mate‘.
Pretty much everything you’d need to know before picking up this book can be found in the Cover Description. What that doesn’t tell you is the level of emotions, and perhaps the range of emotions that you’ll be going through as you discover this ranch with a complicated history, a family that must meet the stipulations of a will, and a guest who becomes so much more upon his first visit to this vacation spot in Wyoming… which is a far cry from Alaska.
Casey is strong, a bit stubborn, but willing to listen (which isn’t always the case with heroes or heroines, right?). She’s fighting for her family ranch with the odds stacked against them from the start. But she’s not going down without a determined fight. Too bad the handsome, sexy stranger decided to book a vacation right now when she’s distracted… or maybe Braden’s timing was just perfect.
Braden is a sweetheart, a sexy sweetheart in fact. I adored this man from the beginning even before he and his cousin reached the ranch for his true colors were showing when he first learned of this unexpected trip. I simply fell more in love with him along the way to his, and Casey’s happy ending.
There are vile villains to be ousted and defeated, a ranch to be saved, a family to fall in love with, and one swoon-worthy couple to watch working their way to acknowledging what they already knew… mates forever. I had such a good time with ‘Engaging His Mate‘ and I cannot wait for the next book in this series to be released. Soon? Please?
If you love a really good love story, confrontations to be made with underlying danger around each corner, meeting an interesting family, and watching two people fall in love in spite of the circumstances surrounding them at the moment… then you’ll want to pick up ‘Engaging His Mate‘ and get started on a brand new series, ‘Crescent Canyon Shifters‘ – like, now.

A fantastic book one in the Crescent Canyon Shifters series. It is well written, emotionally deep, engaging, funny, witty, and consistent. The twists and turns, drama, suspense, and more will draw you into the story and leave you wanting more. The characters are likeable; the chemistry between them is amazing. Definitely recommended!

When I started reading this story, I could not put it down. I read the book in one day. This author is an awesome writer. I can not wait to read more of their books. Keep up the great work. You should definitely read this book.
Casey Walker runs a shifter-friendly dude ranch in Wyoming. When she and her sisters discover that their father's Will requires that one of them has to marry a shifter within 6 months of his death or they lose the ranch, Casey needs to find a way to make this happen. Braden and his cousin, Jake, have been unsuccessful at finding their mates in Alaska. When they are out fishing, Jake tells him about the dude ranch where they might be able to find mates. Actually, he had already booked them there, a non-refundable vacation, but at least they could enjoy the fishing if they didn’t find their mates. However, it didn’t take long for Braden to realize Casey actually is his mate! Now he needs to find a way of winning her love without it seeming that he is after her ranch!
Casey was also getting pressured by Harlan, a neighboring rancher who wanted her property no matter what he had to do to get it. When Braden finds out about their situation, can he come up with a plan to save the ranch and get the girl?
The characters in this story were great, and the little touch of mystery and suspense with the bad guys who want to steal the ranch make it an interesting story line. Grab your copy and enjoy!
Braden a bear shifter living in Alaska, while fishing with his cousin Jake, the conversation turned to finding mates and Jake had an idea where to find them. A dude ranch that caters to shifters in Wyoming, but to Braden the thought of going to a dude ranch sounds like another one of Jake's bad ideas. Casey and her sisters run a dude ranch for shifters and now she has a difficult job to do and that is to find a mate in one month. Her father has died and according to his will, one of his daughters must to be married before the six months time frame after his death or they will lose their inheritance and the man has to be a shifter. But that's not the only problem Casey has to face, Harlan who has a dude ranch, next ranch over from their, he and his group of misfits are trying to take her visitors from her ranch to take them to his, the Wolf's Claw. When Braden and Jake arrived at the ranch, Braden took one look at Casey and realized that Casey is his mate. But when he over heard Casey and her sisters talking about their fathers will, he comes up with his own idea how to help them and also win over his mate. I am volunteering to leave a review for a ARC of this book.
Braden is being dragged by his cousin to a ranch in the hopes that either of them will find their mates. Braden highly doubt that will happen but has no choice since his cousin Jake booked and paid for this one week excursion. Casey is trying to run her dads ranch after his unexpected passing. Sadly she is also trying to figure out how to accomplish the stipulation in his will that she or one of her sister marries within 6 months of his passing. Time is passing by and she is running out of option and losing the ranch isn't one of them. Branden discovers this information during his stay at the ranch and negotiates a deal with Casey to help her with this issue. Casey is unaware that Braden is doing this because she is actually his mate. Will Branden reveal the truth to Casey? Will they be able to get married and save her ranch? Why can't the pesky neighbor let her be? I enjoyed the story and can't wait to read the next story.

Braden reluctantly accompanied his cousin to a ranch in Wyoming because Jake thought they might find their mates there although Braden just went for the fishing. Casey was trying to find a way around the stipulation in her father's will that said one of his daughters must marry a shifter within 6 months of his death for them to get their inheritance. Harlan was an unsavory character who wanted Casey and her property and wouldn't take no for an answer. He was a wolf no one wanted to cross. As the deadline closed in, Casey knew she needed to do something to save the ranch for her and her sisters.
I loved the interactions between Braden, Jake, Casey, her sisters, Aunt Trudy, Fred and Emma Each one had something special to contribute to the story and played a part in the reader feeling the sense of family and the love and friendship the story portrayed. I look forward to more of these engaging characters in the future books in this series.
Braden and Jake still havent found their mates - there arent too many unmated females in Alaska, and their bears arent interested in what is available. So Jake trick Braden into a week at a dude ranch which caters for shifters. Casey is desperate to sort out her father's will to be able to keep the dude ranch going - but it seems there is no way out - she has one week left to find a shifter to be her husband or lose everythig that she and her sisters have worked for. When they get off the bus, Braden's bear is alerted to Casey - so when he finds out her problems, he offers to be her pretend husband for six months. He knows she is his mate - but she has no idea. Will their ruse turn into the real thing? I cant wait to see what happens with Jake and Fred in the next book! :-)

The storyline grabbed me when I read the blurb. I really loved the characters and I'm a sucker for shifters. Casey is just trying to hang onto her family ranch with her sisters but their father's will shakes them to the core. One of the girls have to marry withing 6 months or they lose their inheritance. Jake, Braden's cousin, tells him about a ranch for shifters that they might be able to find their mates. Jake has already book them into the ranch and Braden, who's not interested in any of the females in Alaska, decides to go. When the get there Braden already knows that Casey is his mate but he's scared to say anything in case she thinks that he's only interested in getting her ranch. Will they get past that and be able to work for their HEA? Read the story and find out. I received a copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Braden, a bear shifter from Alaska, is not happy when his cousin Jake ropes him into going to a dude ranch to increase their possibilities to find their mates. The ranch is run by 3 sisters, of which Casey is the oldest. Their father passed a while ago and left them with an ultimatum: one of them has to marry within a certain time frame and this time is running out fast. Her only options are a shady lawyer and a creepy wolf shifter from the neighboring ranch. Of course Braden recognizes her as his mate. But how to persuade her of it - as she is human. n entertaining story, that is fun to read, with a touch of light suspense, when people try to sabotage the ranch. Nothing really extraordinary about the story, but well-written and enjoyable. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Braden wasn't happy. His mate wasn't to be found in the wilds of Alaska but he was pretty much resigned to being alone. At least he could fish. Then his cousin drags him into a scheme for a holiday at a shifter ranch in Wyoming and pays the non-refundable fee with HIS credit card. So it's off to Wyoming for his first trip out of the state.
Casey isn't having a good time. She's trying to run her family's vacation ranch, fight off the neighbors and meet the terms of her father's crazy will in time to prevent losing the ranch. She doesn't have much choice and has to turn to her guest for help but Braden is more than willing to come to her aid.
Fast paced easy read. Lovable characters that really are good for each other. And they have definite chemistry but there's trouble ahead. A good start to a new series.
Story (4 stars): Sweet romantic story of Braden (H), a bear shifter, who comes to a Wyoming ranch for a vacation where he meets his mate, Casey (h). Casey and her sisters are in danger of losing the ranch to the local villain, Harlan, unless she can meet the terms of her father's will and one of the sisters must marry a shifter. Braden doesn’t want to divulge to Casey that they're mates until he gets to know one another better. He eventually finds out that she needs a fake husband and volunteers to be just that. There's some ups and downs with Harlan and the ranch, but Casey and Braden work together with family and friends to get their HEA.
Audio (3 stars) : Single narrator audio using different voices for different characters. I was fine with the female voices, but just didn’t care for male characters, especially Braden.
This one got me from the beginning to end. Loved the characters and story. Casey is trying to run her family ranch with her sisters and her father's will surprises them saying one of the girls has to marry within 6 months of his death or they lose their inheritance. Braden and his cousin Jake are out fishing one day and Jake tells him about a place they can try to find mates. Unknown to Braden, Jake already booked them since there are no females they are interested in Alaska they decide to try a Shifter friendly Dude Ranch. Braden knows Casey is his mate but is afraid to tell her and her think he wants her ranch.

Braden goes on vacation with his cousin Jake and meets his mate Casey. Bear shifter Braden is talked into taking a vacation from his Alaskan home by his cousin Jake to the Crescent Canyon Ranch in Wyoming. When they get off the bus in Waynesrock his bear takes notice of the taller of the two women approaching the waiting group.Casey Walker had been to see the family lawyer who reminded her of how little time was left of the six months to find a husband that had been stipulated in her late fathers will and was glad to be called away to collect their arriving guests. Among them she notices two handsome shifter but the taller is the one that catches her eye.

Take a non shifting shifter, a bear who scents his mate, a cute and sassy child and some mystery , add in a shady lawyer and a less than scrupulous rival pour into a dude ranch and let it all simmer and you have the perfect story . Romantic without being steamy , spiced with danger ( though not sure if the danger comes in the form of the villain or the feisty sister ) and a start ( I hope ) of a new series The perfect book for a lazy summer day or cosying up on a winter day when you want an easy read that keeps you turning pages

Casey was having problems with the owner of a neighboring ranch and finding out the clause that her dad put in the will. Jake was Braden’s cousin and used Braden’s credit card again and booked them a vacation on a due ranch in Wyoming. Hoping that they would find their mates and Braden did, Casey was his mate. But he said that he would help her by pretending to be her husband so she wouldn’t lose the ranch. But she realized that they were mates and there was no pretending to be married after that and they claimed each other! Loved the book!
Braden was roped by his cousin Jake into a vacation at a dude ranch in Wyoming. Casey is trying to find ways to elude or accomplished the stipulations on her father's will to keep their ranch over hers and her sister's heads. He is a bear shifter and Casey is a human with werewolf bloodline, since the moment they lock eyes they're attracted to each other. Tribulations, bad guys (slimy), family bonds, mates and love.

Casey and her sisters are running their family's vacation ranch, since the death of their father. He left them a surprise, in order to keep the ranch one of them has to marry a shifter. If that isn't difficult enough, the neighboring ranch is trying to steal their customers. Luckily for them their vacation ranch caters to shifters. Bradon and his cousin are there to find their mates and he hears them discussing the problem and offers to help. A good story. Must read to find out what happens.

This book is filled with great characters who are well developed and three dimensional. The story line is fun and unique in many ways. Braden is protective, loyal, sweet and dang sexy. Casey is loving, kind, independent, strong and family oriented. The villians are easy to spot and stay true to the name. The drama is meaningful and interesting. I can't wait for Jake's book and Lexi's and Kelse's and I hope Trudy gets a book too. The book is easy to read and moves smoothly and logically.

I will definitely be reading more books by this new to me author. The relationships between the characters in the book are very good. The lifelong friendship between Brendan and Jake adds depth to the storyline. Casey and her sisters are also intriguing individuals. The chemistry between Casey and Brendan is a nice balance.

This is an original story that held me captive from page one until the very last page. I can't wait to re-read this book. The characters are amazing and the chemistry between them is funny, protective and combustible. There are a few complications along the way but this is a great shifter story and a must read. This is another great story by Rayna Tyler and it is also the first book in the Crescent Canyon Shifters series.
Enjoyed the family of characters and humor. Found myself laughing at "cheeky" comments by characters in the story. Sweet romance for Braden, a good guy bear, and Casey, the responsible oldest human sister. Looking forward to reading all of the books in the series, because I love all of the female characters and want to find out how each of their stories end.
