When drug-related slayings begin occurring practically in his own back yard, Rafe Buenrostro leads a corps of bicultural sleuths in piercing the intrigue of a crime family apparently at war with itself.
This was a fantastic book- so much so that I still remember the feeling I had after finishing it so many years ago. It was a great mystery but more importantly the author was able to set the scene so authentically that it made you feel like you were there. Full disclosure- the author, Rolando Hinojosa-Smith, was my English professor in college (one of my absolute favorites to be honest). He has no idea I’m writing this review as we lost touch many years ago, but I’d feel the same about this book regardless!
