Red River Romps #4

It Started with a Snap

Rate this book
Have you ever known someone who seemed to have their life together, but one tiny scratch beneath the surface revealed they were two seconds from hitting rock bottom? Yeah. That was me.

Ember
I’d always been the wild one who did what she wanted with zero apologies. The life of the party. The one who swore she’d never settle down because living in the fast lane was the only place to be. Well, as fast as it gets in Red River, Texas, anyway.
But my free and loose lifestyle came back to bite me hard. My quaint little boutique, Glowing Embers, was on the brink of collapse thanks to a few bad decisions and a decades-old building that was threatening to fall down around me.
I refused to tell anyone how bad it had gotten, but when a support beam snapped thanks to millions of tiny, wood-chomping termites, my friends refused to let me deal with it on my own.
They called in backup. Ethan Perry, my quiet, gorgeous archenemy—and my best friend’s brother-in-law—volunteered to renovate the entire place on his own time and his own dime.
I wanted to refuse, but what choice did I have with my life’s work on the brink of collapse?

Ethan
Ember Moore was the opposite of me in every way. Where I was quiet and reserved, she was loud and extroverted. While I exercised complete control, she let her wildest impulses rule her decisions
And yet, I’d felt drawn to her since the moment I first laid eyes on her. I tried to fight it. I told myself the attraction was just loneliness in the wake of my three brothers finding love and settling down.
But when I saw her kiss another man, my jealousy went on a rampage, and I made the mistake of getting drunk and saying awful things about her—things she just so happened to overhear.
And now, she hated me.
When my brothers asked me to help her, I dreaded the prospect, but I couldn’t say no. She needed me.
And within a few days, I realized I needed her just as much.
An uneasy truce and an unlikely friendship turned into much more, but could we survive a life-altering surprise that would change both of us forever?
This is a standalone romance with lots of spice and snarky humor. It is the fourth and final book in a series of standalones featuring four hot brothers finding love in a small town. HEA guaranteed!

Mrs. Piper James you have done it again. This is book 4 was honor to receive this book as a arc. I have read books 2 - 4. Just say this one was the most favorite story I love.

This story is about Ember and Ethan. It funny and the romance wowowow it was hot talk about hot 🥵🥵🥵🥵

This story was enemies to lovers trope. You couldn’t put it down. I really mean couldn’t put it down I very read to quick and glue to this book.

Ember and Ethan are on the outs at the beginning of the story because Ethan, while drunk, made rude comments about Ember to his brothers while he was feeling jealous. He call her slutty. Ember knew we all know alcohol is a truth serum. He said exactly what he thought of her. When he tried to apologize to Ember. She just told him stick up his ass size of a telephone pole.

Ember needed help her store was starting to break down really bad. Until Bella and Sage her friend got Perry bothers to help fix her place. Turns out Chase and Ryder drove up to Ethan house and ask for help.

Ethan heard what his brother told and he offer to fix the pace o. His own without them. He knew Ryder promise to watch his son and Chase had to worry about his son surgery as well.

So form their the stories starts to get very interesting what happens next.
Well here it gooooooooooes😂😂😂😂

WHAT YOU THOUGHT I WAS GOING TO TELL 😂😂😂😂
NOPE
You have to find out your self and read it. Trust me you will not put it down😂😂😂. Thank you so much Piper James for this Arc Book 📚 can’t wait for more adventure to come. 🥰

Just like the rest of this series, I was instantly invested in the story and the characters. Not only did I already love this world, but I had high hopes for this particular couple and Ms. James did not let me down. I am such a sucker for these types of romances, and with both Milestone Mischief and Red River Romps, I've been on cloud 9.

I love how each book continues on in the same world, but can also be read as a stand alone. There are no cliffhangers, but you still get to sort of 'catch up' with previous characters with each new book that comes out. I have to admit to being rather said that this is the final book in the series, though I'm also super excited to see what the author has in store for us next.

In this book, there are some tropes that I really love, including enemies to lovers. I love when all that tension finally hits it's mark and in this story it was executed perfectly. The fireworks were incredible and reading the romance of it all gave me butterflies in my stomach.

If you love a small town romance, enemies to lovers, and a great story with some spice, you're going to love this book and this whole series. I highly recommend all the Piper James books!

Wow...loved it!

I gotta admit i love all of the Perey brothers. But Ethans and Embers was my favorite. I literally read in one sitting. I couldn't put it down. It was a cute, cheesy, and steamy book. Thanks for another great book Piper James. Looking forward to the new series.

This story is a far cry from the cliché male player and tamed female, which I absolutely love. Ember is the wild child and Ethan is the straight-laced male, and the sparks when these two come together is nothing short of expected.

Of course, this book follows the same pattern as the others, but that doesn't take away from the enjoyment. Ethan was always the more reserved brother, and I was eager to delve more into him and his personality. These brothers may just be my kryptonite with their 'hidden' dominant side ;)

Ember was always the loud one of the group and it was great to see that she did not let that side of her go. There were times when her stubbornness frustrated me and times where I was thinking 'you go girl?' Nonetheless seeing her finally getting her happy ever after with both her shop and man was a joy to read.

I'm so sad that this was the end of the series because it is one where I resonated with the characters quite a lot. I will miss their little antics and seeing how the brothers continue to adapt to moving away from the city.

A great thanks to the author for having me be on her arc team. This was a great light-hearted series that was much needed in the chaos of lockdowns and a certain virus that-shall-not-be-named. I cannot wait to see where her writing takes her next!

OMG! I freaking love this book.

It Started With A Snap is the fourth and final book in Ms. James’ Red River Romps series, and may be my favorite one yet, (or at the very least it’s tied with Dakota and Noah’s story). Ms. James knows just how to pull the reader in and make them gush over two characters falling in love. And boy did I gush over them, being the hopeless romantic I am.

Ember and Ethan are complete opposites of each other. She’s loud; he’s quiet. She’s outgoing; he’s reserved. You get the idea. But it’s this oppositeness that makes them shine together…once they get over themselves and move past the bitterness they display toward one another for a drunken slip of words that held no real meaning. So, I guess in a way, Ember and Ethan’s story is not just an opposites attract story, but an enemy to lovers story too. And I loved every bit of it.

If you’re a hopeless romantic like me, and love the idea of two people who are clearly made for each other falling in love, then you should read this book. Heck, you should read all the books in this series. Technically, each love story is its own thing, and each book could be read as standalones, but it’s so much better when you read them in order, as the characters overlap in a shared universe, making the overall story that much more fulfilling.

I can’t wait to read what Ms. James writes next.

It Started With a Snap by Piper James
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

It Started With a Snap is the 4th and final book in Red River Romps series. I’m sad to see the series ending but I know that Piper James will always give us a great ending.

This is Ember and Ethan story. When Ember needs help with repairs for her boutique. Her dear friends sends Ethan to help her because nobody else could. Ember and Ethan have incredible chemistry but are different in many ways. Plus Ethan is an dom and he bring out Ember brat that make them perfect together but they will going through all before they will get their HEA. Their journey is definitely worth reading because in the end you will find yourself falling in love with them.

It Started With a Snap is wonderful ending to this incredible series. Piper James give us some remarkable characters and to see how they end up was amazing. I can’t wait to see the next series she brings us.

Love, love, loved this book!

I loved watching both characters evolve and complement each other so well! And who doesn't love a kind, considerate, handy, kinky man? Ethan is dreams!

I loved how their relationship started, it was too sweet. There are seriously amazing together! Opposites really do attract in this book!

Amazing job again, Piper! But let me just tell you, I am soooooo sad this series is over! I need more!

If you guys are debating whether or not to read this series, JUST DO IT ALREADY!! And read all her other books! Piper has serious talent when it comes to story telling! Perfect mix of plot, smut, strife, and love!

This is Ember and Ethan’s story, the 4th book in the Red River Romps series. It is an enemies to lovers trope with a HEA. Ember and Ethan are on the outs at the beginning of the story because Ethan, while drunk, made rude comments about Ember to his brothers while he was feeling jealous. But as fate would have it, Embers boutique is falling apart and she’s running out of options. When her best friends realize what’s happening, they recruit their husbands and boyfriends who are all brothers and they own a construction company together to help her out. Ethan, the only brother who’s single and not busy, volunteers for the task. This is a sweet story of two people who can’t admit to themselves how they feel about each other. You get to read about how they fall in love and finally admit their feelings.

This is the ultimate opposites attract book. Ember totally hates Ethan! Ember is the IDGAF type of person. She is wild and has fun! Embers boutique is in dire straits and she is sinking financially. Till her friends send Ethan over to help.
Ethan knows Ember doesnt like him due to him and his big mouth. he knows its his fault but she did something he didnt like. Ethan is the work work work type of person. He likes to get things done and done right. This is a great story plot and i had fun reading it. If you havent you should get the whole series! Ive read them all and enjoyed them!

I really enjoyed this story. Ember and Ethan were perfect together, and I loved the tension between them. Ember wanted everything to just work out, but when she couldn't, she was forced to turn to her friends for help, and in turn that meant going to Ethan for help. This book captivated me from the beginning, and I was left hooked until the very last page. I'm sad to see this series end, but super excited to see what Piper has up her sleeve next!

This was another fun and sexy story in the Red River Romps series. Ethan’s or fly world is turned upside down when the anything but orderly Ember makes her way into his life. They have some differences to navigate, but it’s fun watching them do so.

It’s steamy, funny, and sweet with some great banter along the way. If you like rom-com with some heat, you’ll like this story. It fits well with the others in the series.

This book was super cute, fun read. I just felt like it was more over an outline than a full book. This book lacked a lot of detail and felt rushed. I feel like the first book in the series gave so much more background with the characters and detail and as the series progress they became shorter and shorter books with less and less detail and interaction. So this book kind of felt lackluster. I enjoyed the book but I just wish there was more.

I have thoroughly enjoyed all the books in this series. But, I will say this one was my favorite. I loved all the Perry brothers, but, I have a bit of a crush on Ethan. He was different from most protagonists. He was more introverted than we usually see in our main men, except, of course, in the bedroom where he was panty eating! I will admit that Ember annoyed me a bit in the beginning, but I grew to love her and accept that my man Ethan was perfect for her. This book was more of a slow burn than the other Red River Romps, but so worth the wait! I loved reading how Ethan and Ember got past the issues that put them at odds. It felt real. Piper James is great at creating fully rounded three dimensional characters. I’m sad to let them all go! I guess its time for a re-read.

Lord how I loved this book!!! And how I got so absolutely frustrated reading then not communicating like they should have been from the start. Well more like any normal couple at times does... but I digress! This book was filled with ups, downs, lefts, right, and quite a few WTF moments! With a few surprises sprinkled in!!!

They just get better and better

I've read everything this author has written and I really enjoy them. I love the family groups that intertwine. I love that there's a little drama but no big angsty misunderstandings. I love that they are written from both POVs. They are a little funny, a whole lot steamy, and really sweet. Definitely worth spending some time in their world.

I love this author. I had been waiting for Ethan’s story since book 1 and this did not disappoint. Easily my favorite of the bunch. I loved the development of their relationship and I love how they each handled each other. I love how the conflict wasn’t due to some miscommunication and they handled it with grace. It was hot hot hot and super swoony. I loooooved it.

My favorite of this series

I was waiting for Ethan and Ember's love story. Ethan being described as kind of a stick in the mud in the other books. I knew he was going to be a hottie! Ember is perfect for him. They brought the best of each other out for others to see. This was one hot book. Thanks for such a great series. Written by Cindy :)

Wow

This was the most fun book because love bloomed behind the scenes and they had to work on becoming friends and then in a relationship to being pregnant and getting married! In all these books four brothers find their ONE and all are blessed with love and the changes in everyone as they grow as couples! What more can you ask for but happiness in life.

Piper James is a master of romcoms! When Ember’s life is literally falling apart, Ethan, the dude who called her an irresponsible slut, is the only guy available to help her repair her shop. Thus begins and adorable and sexy enemies to lovers story.

It's always the quiet ones

Ethan is the quiet brother. He is the serious one. I love the way he learns to love Ember's chaos. Their story is the perfect telling of opposites attract. The banter, the fighting, and the smiles all make my heart ping.
