the story and illustrations were beautiful, simple, and sweet. I appreciate the fact that the point of view was shown from a baby elephant's curious and innocent personality. However, it tugged harder at my heartstrings than I thought it would. I've only ever come physically close to crying while reading four books, this being one of them. I am not an emotional reader. However, I suppose it is inevitable since this is based on a true story.
