Marcella Davis, Oz- the former prez of the club- Davis’s daughter, Khan’s goddaughter, the club ‘Princess’, and my f***ing kryptonite. No matter how much I try to put distance between us and stay away, there’s something about her that just pulls me back in. So when I see her spiraling out of control. I feel the need to protect her. To keep her safe. And when she called me that night, crying, terrified, I didn’t think twice. I just left. Even though I know it’s all going to blow up in my face. I knew it was a bad thing going in… Because we’re a ticking time bomb and with everything else going on around the club it's all bound to implode...
UGHHHHH. N ripped out my heart, chewed it up, spat it out, stomped on it, and then kicked it across the room for good measure. I loved every second.
The last book in the Midnight Syn series was Ella’s story, and as much as it broke my heart, I’m so glad we got to read her story. Now I’ll be here, twiddling my thumbs and wondering what the hell I’m going to do with myself now.
I think this has been my favorite of the series. I thought I might be a little creeped out by the age gap as she was 16 when the book starts. It actually was very well written and not only does nothing happen until after she is 18 the way axe talks to her and tries to make her understand is refreshing. Ella has had a tough road with her mother leaving her father always being gone and being kept from the darker side of the mc. Axe was injured in the marines and found the mc after. They became his family and as much as he is falling in love he also knows he’s betraying his found family. We do end up with a double HEA and I don’t have to cry over lost lives anymore
Ella had to be the last story. Without her, none of the series would have happened. She's ultimately the reason why Khan met Billie and the rest snowballed from there. Even Ace & Remy. Also, with the constant thought from characters saying how they already feel bad for anyone she ends up with...
Be warned, she is darker than anyone has made her out to be. These men looked at her as a pseudo-daughter, so when her true colors come out, it may be surprising. Although, she does give a hint to it at the very beginning...
He's just as damaged as she is. Which is why their attraction is so intense.
"But for her, I'll burn, I'll even light the match myself."
The hard part about Ella was figuring out how to write a female who was raised by men in a way that still left her with a bit of femininity. And creating a character who could handle her, and put her back together when she falls apart.
