Published in 2003, 'P-51 Mustang From 1940 to 1980' is number 5 in the 'Planes and Pilots' series from the published. The book gives a potted history of the famous combat aircraft from its inception early in WW2 until its final days of military use in the mid 1980s. This is supported by 19 photos, over 200 colour profile artworks, 4pages of USAAF Fighter Group markings and 2 pages of line drawings identifying 15 types of P-51 and F-82. Judging by the number of profiles, this is aimed at the modeller but accuracy issues on some make this little use for other than inspiration.
