Not only does he have to stop Volkan, but he also has to make sure that, good or evil, no one should possess the ability to bend reality.

The cover-page grabbed my attention, I thought it would be a thriller, particularly a spy thriller. Only after some pages I realised it's a science fiction which is not my favourite genre (I read only books referred by my friends in this category). I was about to drop this book but the author's style of scripting made me continue.
The story begins the intro of Alex Lucent a talented youngster and a loner after losing his twin brother to brain turner. His loneliness leads him to a dark path (but not crime) which moves him to a monastery in China. After spending some months Alex gets to meet Guang Liang one of the eldest members of the monastery. This meeting gets him connected to an ancient organisation which further leads him to explore the unknown. What's this organisation about?
Parallely we read about Flint Shaw another orphan from Japan. Alex's loneliness moves him towards knowledge and global protection whereas Shaw is thrown into a circle of organised crime. In all this chaos his only comfort is the one he loves - Lily. It is a forbidden love from which he is separated and eventually she dies. This loss shatters him. At such times he meets Akichik Volkan an engineer, a scientist, a rogue, a highly motivated psychopath. What is Volkan's plan and what is its impact in the lives of Alex and Shaw?
I have read few books in this genre, after completing which I feel like have enjoyed a fantasy tale, but this book is a hardcore science fiction. As a reader I could feel its presence in the world with its futuristic technology. The multidimensional transit or game with time in this story are magic of science not of fantasy (not wizardry). When it comes to characters I'm inclined towards Shaw, I know I'm being wrong yet I have a soft corner for him. In short this is an enjoyable tale till the very end.
