This review is for the manhwa "Let's get a Divorce, Husband" but for some reason, the book is not showing here on Goodreads. I know there is a process to add the book but it is much too tedious so I will just put the review in the book with the closest title.
I absolutely loved this book! The characters were all well-written. Although I do have a few critiques, I did enjoy reading this novel very much.
The main character, Aila. is a very likable character. I am glad to read about an MC who makes sound decisions and not someone who is overly good. This is an isekai book so Aila was reincarnated into a "fictional" story where the character supposedly dies after her villain husband commits treason.
Aila's main motivation was to avoid getting killed so she just wants to divorce her husband, Claude, so she cannot be incriminated once he meets his demise.
So imagine her surprise when Claude denies her request for a divorce. Based on the story she read, her husband was indifferent towards her and didn't really love her. Since Claude wouldn't let her go, she told him that if he would be able to make her fall in love with him within a month, she will not go through with the divorce.
Claude pulled out all the stops and showered her with gifts and jewels. Aila didn't have a chance and before long, she was head over heels for Claude so she decided to not push for a divorce especially after Claude almost died after saving her.
What I didn't like about the story was the ending. I thought it was too rushed and it would have benefited by adding 10 more chapters. Everything was just dumped on the reader all at once (Aila became the chosen disciple of the god in that universe, she has immense powers, she helped the revolt against the emperor, defeated the demon god, and became the empress). It was like, whoa, wait a minute too many things are happening way too fast!
I also didn't like that there were 2 characters who sort of came into the picture way too late and were blessed by Lahas, the god of light. I mean, yes they helped, but their participation in the story was not that heavy. I would have rather that Aila's maidservant was blessed or even some other character who was featured in the story.
It would have also been nice if it was revealed that Aila was pregnant, it would be a nice icing on the cake.
But that being said, it was still a very good book and I loved every moment of reading it.
