Frank has done it again! This story is epic, in word count and the amount of things going on in this book.
Connor is in trouble, he needs to get the best of the best together to fight Queen Dreokt. In the meantime Shona is in perril. Unfortunately she gets to see the power of the Queen from close by. I really liked her in this book. She has a hard time, and has to control herself and her thoughts in order to stay alive. In the end there is only one thing to do: break every rule, push herself to limits she didn't know she'd had.
In fact: Connor faces the same fate, as are his friends.
The beginning of the book is awesomly written, getting a deeper insight into the characters. Fighting the Queen is not an easy matter, Frank Morin takes his time to zoom in on that mission.
In the end everything comes together...

The best books

The best books I've read in a very long time. A incredibly complex world that is totally unique. The books capture you for page 1 all the way through. There isn't even a boring part. It just changes along packed with a wonderfully complex storyline. Its one of those book you emerce yourself in and enjoy so much that it painful when you finish the last page. I just want to keeping going. Cant wait for the next book. I have a new favorite author these books are that good

Another fantastic addition to The Petralist series. From start to finish there was action, character development, and several twists that I was not expecting. It is hard to see the main character of a story struggle the way Conner does at times, but it is also great when he comes out on top and it's a win for the good guys. Would recommend this book and really the series to anyone who is into young adult fantasy, action, and a little romance type of books.

Excellent book in the series

I was waiting to read the next book and it didn't dissapoint. The author did a great job of expanding the story in other parts of the continent and adding new characters. There are still some things that I consider need some fixing and this is mainly in the interaction between the main characters, who tend to get uni-dimensional in some dialogues.
