When we think we have a hard life, just look at wild animals. They live in constant danger. Alissa loved the little elephants.

I'm surprised there is only one other rating and no other reviews for this book! It's not the best book in the world but wow - it's certainly worth reading. Especially if your child loves animals. What kid doesn't love elephants, zebras, giraffes, etc?
Elephant Crossing is about wild animals in Africa being led by the great-grandmother elephant to new food. The way to new food isn't the easiest and on the way the herd has to deal with hungry lions, the hot African sun, and a swarm of grasshoppers.
The illustrations, especially those depicting the grasshoppers, are amazing.
