She left me to rot in jail. I’ll never give her a second chance.
He was the most handsome and popular guy in high school. The only one that didn’t snicker at my large curves. I adored him and gave him my v-card, because I wanted no one else, ever.
My life changed when my father had him arrested And forced our family to leave town. I never found out what happened to Max.
That was 6 years ago and I’m not that scared kid anymore. I’m back to apologize for what happened back then.
Oh hotness, the feelings start up again when I see him. He’s all grown up and sexier than he was in school. I’ll do anything to win back my forever guy.
But is his heart big enough to forgive the past and accept the baby growing inside of me?
A steamy second chance, accidental pregnancy romance filled with angst and heat. Family drama and heartfelt moments. This can be read as a standalone, no cliff hangers or cheating and of course a HEA.
Max and Sam's story is phenomenal!! Sam definitely did not have the best childhood, nor a good marriage. We know Max childhood from the previous books, and we know although they have their problems his family is close, and because of the past between Max and Sam, his family is not so welcoming. Boy did I route for this couple, the hurdles these two have to go through is at times heartbreaking. I highly recommend this book, or any of Tara Brent's books.

I enjoyed the book. The girl in the book had a really rough life. She was not popular in school but managed to attract one of the most popular boys in her school. They fell in love but her father caused all kinds of problems. He had the boy falsely arrested and married his daughter off to an older abusive man. Years later the girl returns home and apologizes to the man for what happened when they were kids.

This is such a great story. Max and Sarah (Sam) were high school sweethearts who were ripped apart through no fault of their own. Max is known as a playboy in his community. Sam was abused by her dad and also in her marriage. This is the story of what happens when Sam crashes back into Max’s life and looks for the opportunity to have a second chance at love. There is steamy scenes as they get to know each other again. The characters are wonderful. The topics addressed are not all pleasant but the author handled them with grace. Overall an excellent story with a sweet happy ending.
A huge thank you to Tara for letting me have an arc of this book. It has been a whirlwind of a ride!

But is his heart big enough to forgive the past and accept the baby growing inside of me...even if it's not his?
▪︎MY THOUGHTS▪︎ I thoroughly enjoyed this romance and I'm a sucker for second chance stories. It's dark at places and smutty. For me everything was all balanced. I absolutely love Sam, she is a woman who knows what she wants and will fight to get it (at least try!) She is someone with one tough past. Hearing her childhood with her father and finding the reason why Max was sent to prison, broke me. Max...Oh Max. I adore him. He is passionate and smart. He is so stubborn and at times I just wanted to thump him. I can see why he is angry with Sam and doesn't trust her, but when you get the whole story you know it's not really completely her fault.
This book is very half and half and like I said very balanced. You have two families who are both wronged and are hurt. You can see both are angry. Max side is all wanting him to be cared for and not to be hurt. While for Sam, her father is gaslighting, abusive and controlling. And don't get me started on the ex-husband Wayne! Talk about one vile character. Yet all want what's best for them. I really liked the family dynamics and even though at times I was extremely infuriated with them, grinding my teeth and swearing in my head. I also wanted them to see the truth and the love and also change there behaviour.
I appreciated the delicacy and sensitivity in the abuse and sexual assult topics. It was done more suggestively, rather than full blown in depth. I prefer that sometimes as it really isn't nice to read and I'm always a blubbering wreck when I read stuff like that (due to my own personal experience.)
I really liked the romance and there was just the right amount of smut. I also equally liked the unexpected pregnancy. I really liked how Sam handled herself and how she was willing to put her love aside, and instead just be independent and do everything solo. I felt the fact that Sam was at the stage to do that showed how much her character grew in this book.
Always my forever is a very good romamce book. It's got the second chance romance, smut, unplanned pregnancies, family dramas and the important topics and discussions. I really love Tara Brents writing style, having different povs (which is a firm fave of mine) and also how she tied up the family drama, specifically between Sam and her Father. My only thing I felt missing was I wanted a bit more of Sam and her Dad, I felt that we could of had a bit more discussion with these two and also I felt a bit disappointed in regards to Wayne's character. I felt him dissapearing and never coming back quite unreal and would of liked a bit more on that. But thats just me personally as felt I had unanswered questions in regards to them. Apart from that this is just a quick easy romance book where you can't helping rooting for the characters and hoping they get there hea. If you like drama, second chances and a bit of smut then this is for you!

Max was in love with Sam when they were in high school, her father was abusive and found out about Max and got him arrested. Sam had no choice when her father forced her to leave she ended up in an arranged marriage, not knowing what happened to Max. Fast forward 6 years later and Sam is ready to take control of her life. She is divorcing her husband who has been abusive and wanted to apologize to Max for leaving him.
Max never forgave her for leaving. He was devastated by what happened and could never move on. He didn't want any relationships and has enjoyed being single, until Sam shows back up in his life.
She crashed his brother's wedding and practically stalked him to get him to talk to her. He wanted to avoid her like the plague but she kept showing up. He believed that in order to show he didn't have feelings for her, he couldn't be angry anymore. He decided that in order to get over her, he needed to forgive her and move on.
I think he forgave her too quickly and fell back into a relationship with Sam too fast. After almost landing in jail and disappearing from his life, it only took a couple of interactions with her to fall back in love. Not sure if this story worked for me. I would have liked seeing more their relationship develop back more slowly. His siblings were so protective of him and hated her for what happened, you know that is should have taken longer for him to get back together with her. Max was seeing someone on and off and that conflict with the strong disapproval from his family made the story a little more interesting. Sam was very insistent and I don't know if her pushiness turned me off to the story.
I give it 3.5 stars because I would have like to see more depth to the story to rekindle their relationship.

High School sweethearts Max and Sam were in love. Sam tried to get away from her father and his abuse. When Max helped her he ended up in jail and Sam was forced into a marriage with another abusive jerk. Max is left confused and angry. Sam finally finds her strength and leaves the man to go back to find Max. But he hasn't he hasn't and won't forgiven her in fact he turned himself into the town playboy to rid himself of the pain. It didn't work.
I enjoyed Always My Forever by Tara Brent. I have read quite a few of her books and enjoy her writing style. I think there is something for everyone; mystery, a little romance and some twists. Sam and Max have some steamy chemistry. I am glad that Sam did not give up on Max; she fights for him to give her another chance. I believe that even though Max would definitely cave to his true feelings about Sam, I think it happened a little more quick than it should have. The subject of abuse is handled pretty well. While that is a little heavy of a subject it is a pretty quick reading book that end happily for the couple.
6 years ago Sam had run away from her abusive father’s house with her high school boyfriend, Max, but her father found them, had Max arrested, and brought Sam home where he forced her to marry his business partner’s son. Sam had not defended Max to her father so Max and his family were still angry with her when she returns to her hometown after she left her abusive husband. Sam still has feelings for Max and wants to apologize for the past. Max and Sam begin seeing each other again despite his family’s objection and they have a shaky relationship. What will happen when Sam finds out that she is pregnant and Max might not be the father?
I enjoyed the story of the high school lovers who reunite but here are a lot of issues from their past. It took me a while reading before I finally figured out the story about Max’s arrest and I am still not clear on all of the details. Sam had been abused almost her entire life and I was glad to read that she finally was going to therapy so hopefully there could be a HEA. The epilogue was a great ending for their story.

I love ARCs and I hate rating them low so I try to avoid them at all cost. However, this was a difficult read for me I had to put it down and pick it up several times because it was just a hard read. While I did enjoy the story and eventually the end. It took a bit to get there. Max and Sam had a really hard time. They seem to be high school sweethearts which wasn't something I felt was a very deep love. Then Sam's dad got involved and Max never really got resolution from what happened that horrible night. Sam always got blamed. Then forced into a marriage by an abusive father that no one never really knew about. They reconnect because Sam really wants her first love back but every time Max says this is it I am going to make this work he goes back or something happens and for me I just felt he fought the love more then fighting for the love. So the story was good but the love story just wasn't what I was looking forward too.

This is book 3 of Tara Brant’s Forbidden Series and what an exceptional addition to the series. This is a second chance read that takes you through the relationship of Max and Sam. They were high school sweethearts. Sam ‘s father sent her away to marry the son of a business partner saying she was always trouble and he had had enough. Six years later Sam comes back to town and crashes the wedding of Max’s brother to let him know she is back in town. Be ready for pain, anger, hatred, forgiveness, love, and learning to trust again. This read will have you on the edge of your seat on an emotional ride. Can Max and Sam be able to resolve their issues from the past? Will they be able to get past the hatred Max’s family has toward Max? Will he find out why his family feels their hatred? I recommend this book.

Sam and Max were high school sweethearts but her father interfered and they were split apart. Sam is forced to marry an older man of her father's choosing who is very abusive to her. Years later she goes looking for Max at a wedding she knew he would be at. However she wasn't welcomed because of what happened to Max when they were split up. Max is curious about why she has turned up and wants to find out why things went the way they did between them. He isn't sure he is ready for al of the answers he wants but the more time he spends with her all of his old feelings come rushing back. Can they get their second chance? Will her soon to be ex husband cause more problems for her?
This is a very emotional story that will draw you in from beginning to end. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

This was a tale about finding ones strength, following your heart and make your own decisions. Overall I really enjoyed this fairly quick read. I would have liked a little more detail about or Main Characters Past that sets the story in motion, but it had a good flow and kept me interested. Sam and Max have been friends since they were teenagers a fell in love in high school. They both came from one parent homes but Max's family was always in each other's business and Sam just had her father and who ever his father was with. He was not a nice man. Sam longed to get away and Max wanted nothing more then to help her. Things go terrible wrong! Lies are told, and never confessed. Deals are made without consent. Find out how Sam and Max can find their way back to each other.
Always My Forever. This book was great! It had a lot of drama and suspense that thrilled me. I was on pins and needles waiting for the secrets to get out. Max and Sam were high school sweethearts and because of their home life decided to runaway after graduation. Well things didn't turn out the way they thought it would. The plan was destroyed and the two were separated for years. Sam comes back to town hoping to apologize and win Max back, but she would have to get through his family and deal with her father who destroyed their relationship in the first place. The story has twists and keeps you on edge waiting for the final decision of whether Max is willing to give into Sam or keep walking away. This one tugs at the heart. ***I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. All opinions stated area solely my own and no one else's.
Max is on the cusp of big business changes in his life when surprise surprise, a blast from the past reenters his world. His first love is back and he is not happy about it. Neither is his current girlfriend or his family and none of them are going to let her step right back in where she left off several years ago. Sam needs to slot back into her home town life following several difficult years away but even she didn’t realise just how hard it would all be. With everyone seemingly against her is there anyway forward for her. The trouble is at the time she left, there was a lot more going on than ever she was aware of. Can she ever breach that wall of protection surrounding Max. Does he even want her too. You’ll have to read it to find out and it’s a thoroughly enjoyable read.

Four & Half Stars - This was a enjoyable story that I volunteer to read and review via Booksprout. This second chance romance story is about Sam and Max. Sam crashes Vince and Tiffany's wedding reception and starts dancing where she is seen and Max walks over demanding why she here. Sam tells Max she's back in town. Sam is hoping to reconnect but will Max forget after what happen to him. Years ago Sam and Max were high school lovers who ran away to be together after her father set her up to marry. To start up their new life Sam stole $5,000.00 from her father. They get caught and Max goes to jail and Sam is forced to marry the man her father chose. Years later Sam leaves her abusive husband and returns home living in her father's home, dreaming of being with Max. Will this be a reunion or a forever farewell?
Tara Brent’s writing delivers entertainment. I enjoy her stories because she covers different obstacles in each story. Samantha made some mistakes when she was young. Max suffered from these mistakes.
Max Stewart is trying to get out from under his older brother, Vince’s, care. He has spent the last six years working in the tech industry. He doesn’t have anything earning money for his work, yet. Vince tries to persuade Max to take up the family business in real estate.
Samantha is trying to obtain a divorce from her abusive husband. She has moved out on her own and is working at a marketing firm. She has to deal with her over controlling father and hostility from Max’s family.

Sam and Max were high school sweet hearts and crazy for one another. When Sam’s father steps in Sam wants to leave and go to her mom who doesn’t want her there. Things happened and Sam’s father does somethings to keep them apart. Now 6 years later Sam wants to return to her hometown to try to make things right with Max she will soon find out that it won’t be an easy task. Tara did a good job with this second chance romance. Lot of obstacles for Sam and Max to overcome. They will have to learn to forgive and trust but it won’t be as easy as Sam thinks. Great characters and plenty of drama and steamy moments. I really enjoyed this story.

Max & Sam's love story is a second chance story. Sam comes back into Max's life and he resists but when he finally cracks, he cracks wide open. This is a low-ish angst, sweet and at times even swoon-worthy story with an HEA. We can all use a little Max in our lives.
I received a free ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review.
***3.5 stars*** This is book three in Tara Brent’s Forbidden series. Max and Sam are high school sweethearts that end up on two different paths after her father catches her sneaking back into the house one night. Sam’s father is abusive and forces her into an abusive marriage. Max is arrested and ends up in jail. After six years of abuse Sam files for divorce. When Max and Sam meet again can they find the strength to forgive and find out the truth? Can they find a HEA together or will all the mistrust, misunderstandings, and secrets ruin that chance? Was a good read but definitely needs a trigger warning for the abuse. Enjoyed the ending a lot, it was the best part.

Both Sam & Max grow up in abusive single parent homes. As teens, they love each other & he'll do anything to protect her & be together. Sam's dad has different plans for her & while Max is serving time in jail on trumped-up charges, she is forced to marry an abusive man. So many roadblocks for these 2 lovers to overcome. A surprise blip in this story-line, makes an interesting twist in their second chance outcome.
I've read a few of Tara Brent's novels & this series is on the realistic side, tackling difficult/tricky themes, how the characters heal & how they resolve life's issues thrown their way. Well worth reading as it keeps you interested right to the very last page.
I volunteered to read this ARC & leave an honest review.
Sam has had a tough life and she and Max were high school sweethearts, until her father had Max arrested, and forced his family to leave time while forcing Sam into a marriage with an older and abusive man. Now 6-years later Sam is back in town and wants to apologise to Max for her father’s cruel actions, but not everyone is happy to see her back, especially Max’s family. There are some challenges to overcome along the way, but will Max be able to forgive? This is a well written story which is a 2nd chance love story, with drama, family, emotions, angst, and is a steamy and heartfelt addictive page turner. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Max and Sam had been high school lovers but one fateful night changed everything. Max had been left thinking Sam had left him to spend the night in jail, while Sam's father had forced her to marry a man she didn't know and who was fifteen years her senior. Six years later Sam is back not only to apologise to Max but to make a new life for herself away from her abusive husband. Can they get passed what happened six years ago, plus the animosity of Max's family, Sam also has to cope with her feelings towards her father who it turns out lashed out and beat her because of her mother who had left them.

Building Trust From A Painful Past - The story made me laugh, cry and curse like a sailor. Each page turn kept me on the edge of my seat, waiting and hoping that Max and Sam can resolve the issues from the past and overcome all the obstacles in the path, so they could get the happily ever after they deserved. I was really upset with the things Sam’s dad did, but I was happy that the truth was finally revealed and they forgave him. I was hooked on the story from the beginning and I just couldn’t stop reading it, as it got under my skin. I can definitely say this was an easy five star to award.

Max and Sam fall for each other in high school and when her father is giving her a hard time she wants to run off to her mother not knowing where she was exactly, Max chose to take her because he cares and wanted to make sure she was safe. But once they get to her mother's Sam is very disappointed and from then on everything takes a turn for the worst and it is 6 years before they see each other again. Drama, suspense, mystery, violence, and love. It has a very interesting storyline and the characters are very entertaining. I really enjoyed reading this book and how Sam & Max reunited. I wish we had a little more insight into their past, I would have liked to have known the full truth about what happened that lead them to be separated as teenagers.
However, I really enjoyed it and I love that in the end Max choose his own future and didn’t let his family dictate it, as it had seemed they were all doing. They did things their own way and didn’t let anyone get in there way.
Sam’s life had I went the easiest and I think in some ways she felt as though she didn’t deserve to be loved.
I really did enjoy this book.

This had a good storyline, but it has many ups and downs with Sam and Max. A second chance to get back her first love from high school after some disturbing accusations brought on by Sam’s father against Max. Several years later can he forgive her, or will they both walk away from a love that keeps throwing difficult obstacles at them. I felt the connection, but this was young love it never really seemed this was all encompassing. The ending was very heartfelt as they both come to terms with some very heavy personal issues.

All plans could fail when fate placed its point of view. ¿Could an unforgettable teen love survive time and distance? Everybody would try to place a standpoint and to make sense of both. But the most important one rose from the heart, and truth led the way.
Tara Brent gave us a small-town romance with two players that grew to endure hard family times. They faced disappointment, hesitancy, untrust, misunderstanding, surprises, and drama to led us to a path of real forgiving love. ¡A most-read book that pulls you in and never lets you go until the end!

This is such a brilliant second chance read. Sam is back in her home town after 6 long years away but will she be accepted and can her ex ever forgive her for how she left. Max never wanted to see Sam again but there she is at his brothers wedding. The chemistry and attraction between them is still there but is that enough. I loved how they were together but with everyone against them and her abusive ex that won't stay away could they get their HEA. So much heartache and emotion in this book but also so much love. I loved the ending.
