The government finally has the notorious JASON VOORHEEZE, of the Neva Die Dragon Gang, behind bars, where it is thought he can no longer be a threat to society. But in California's concrete jungle known as "Gladiator School", due to its high level of violence, Voorheeze becomes more vicious than before.
Corrupt correctional officers have a gang of their own. What will happen when they collide with a young, ruthless killer who has nothing to lose? Will Voorheeze get murdered and left in a cell like discarded trash? Or will he prove to be a problem that's much too difficult to solve?
With blood on his hands and anger in his heart, Voorheeze takes on killers with badges and cold-hearted convicts. But his biggest challenge is the man he sees in the mirror, himself. Will self reflection lead to TEARS OF A GANGSTA? Or will Voorheeze's soul remain hardened and unchanged?
De'Kari is a promising author whose work is nothing short of amazing. De’Kari’s work provides readers with an authentic glimpse into street life. He currently writes urban fiction but plans to cross over to other genres.
The author was born and raised in Northern California. The author experienced a challenging childhood. Riddled with abuse, neglect and witnessing violence first-hand. His early years were dark and pained due to the dysfunction that surrounded him. He was often uprooted and moved from place to place. After various placements with relatives, he found himself in foster care. He eventually turned to the streets which consequently led to a lot of bad choices. In turn those bad choices led to youth authority, jail & prison.
There is more to this author than the street-life. He always had a love for writing. In school he excelled in creative writing. He would always live-out the story as he was writing. Through his most difficult times, he used writing as a way to escape from his surroundings.
In additional to writing, he creates poetry, writes songs and does artwork. He loves spending time with family, fishing, sports and helping youth.
He is happy that he is finally able to share his writing with others, putting his passion to work!
Omg! What d*d I just read?!! This book had my emotions up & down!! I was really upset on how he had to kill to keep from getting raped & blackmailer by the jail house undercover home & they one that was so out there with his grayness. It really grosses me out too know how he had to soap up his ass to hide his knife. I learned a lot about prison life reading this book & I was shocked by some of it. Overall this was a great book the author did a great job with this & now I feel I have to go back & read the gorillas in the baby series all over again. I get so much info about how never die came about & how jason Voorhees t-rida & gunz all liked up together
Author De'Kari has done it again. If you read his Gorillaz in the Bay series, this book takes place before that. Full of action, drama and excitement. Life inside of prison.
This is the first time reading from this author and I must say that this author is a exceptional writer. Inside those walls were really deep. For the grace of god I’ve never experienced prison life. I’ve heard the say ‘ Belly Of The Beast’ referring to prison and after reading this I see why. This story was truly heartfelt. God have mercy on these inmates especially the young ones that’s growing up through the system like Jason. I must say that Jason held his own and a lot of them probably won’t be as fortunate plus he had the right people backing him. I liked that he continued to educate himself with good reading literature which some I’m familiar with. One of my favorites is George Jackson. I’m looking forward to reading more. Good job! Very impressed!
very good book, I highly recommend it with Kleenex
Even though I had some laughing moments, I cried a lot reading this story because I felt some of Voorheeze pain. My emotions were running wild. As a parent, my heart ache for Voorheeze. I can’t imagine the hurt he felt because of his mom animosity toward him. I mean what mother wouldn’t go visit her baby while he was locked up. I say baby because he was 12 when he left. This book really drained me because it tore my heart up. Voorheeze went through so much pain but he had a strong conviction of faith. All in all, Voorheeze was a fighter and survivor. When I think about it, I have to remind myself that we have so many Voorheezes in the prisoner system experiencing the same hell.
Man this was a heartfelt read this author gave u a glimpse inside the prison walls. Jason was a lost child looking for love and guidance from parents he never had. He went in a naive young man and had to learn how to defend himself in order to survive inside those walls. This author gave it to us in the raw, bc one can only imagine what goes on in prison, but to actually read about it from someone who's there and have to deal with all of that on a daily basis is truly heartbreaking
This was one of the best books I've read lately. I am truly in love with Mr. Vorheese crazy self now. That's my new baby daddy. He had me rolling how he had to deal with prison life. It also have me some heavy books to read. I was in tears when it looked like Dawoo was gonna get him. I knew he had been touched, I hope he makes it, but if it's anything like the older books, I'm gonna love it. Moving to part 2. Loved it.
I have been searching about how to say that not only is this story good but it is talking to you personally I'd you are reading it. The writer gives us a character that not only can you love him but you will cheer him on and you will except who.he has to become to survive. This is not only excellent writing but this is storytelling at its finest.

First I must say this book touched me deep in my soul. Many times I had to put down through tears and come back. One of the deepest books I have ever read. Takes you from childhood foster care juvenile to prison. This author puts you in his place. The many things that happened the heartfelt message. Please read you will never look at a book the same.
