I was lucky enough to be given an ARC for part 11 in the series that has become a second home to me. From start to finish of Ascension Part Two the emotional roller coaster never stops. We’re gifted more time with the ever growing & changing dynamics of Quin and Layla; also, gut wrenching moments of really watching Layla make some of the hardest decisions in the series. We have just enough adrenaline pumping action mixed with some extremely tender scenes among the coven friends and family members that we feel an even stronger connection to them. B.C. Burgess weaves us into the lives of so many that we feel every acute loss and triumph along the way. The lead up to the final book in this series is another phenomenal cliffhanger. I can’t wait to see what the final chapters bring!

Wow. I am truly at a loss for words. This one is probably the biggest emotional roller coaster compared to all other 8.5 books. It is ACTION AND STORY packed. I needed to take breaks Bc of all of the intense details. Seeing Layla and Quin in a different light is hard for me, but when they come back in their solace for spare moments, it makes me understand that they are still soul mates who are in love and have a family but are also demi gods that have the literal weight of the world on them. The reuniting of the family was beautiful and heartbreaking. The fact that her aura is basically shaped into angels wings is just further proof she has a divine purpose. She is so smart and decisive. I still don’t understand Alec’s purpose and why he is still alive—but I have a feeling something to do w him is coming. Zephora is still an evil bitch but now she’s a dirty, cold evil bitch and I hope she gets the awakening she deserves. And finely being so secretive, I can’t tell if that’s from Ava herself or only to mess with Quin lol! This part is longer than the first and definitely gives you a piece of everything you want from our beloved characters and stories(battle, sex, love, family, friendship, survival). Can’t wait for the finale but also I can wait since I need an emotional break lol!!

Note: Ascension Part 2 is Book 10 of a three part finale in The Mystic Series and is NOT a standalone.
Like all the previous books in this series, Ascension Part 2, took me on a wild ride of emotions. Burgess never fails to pull out all of my feels from the first page to the last. This book picks up right where Part 1 ended. Expect to feel sorrow for those lost, disbelief of the enemy’s destruction, awe of the amazing magic and of course, we get sweet and blazing hot Quin & Layla moments. Will Layla defeat her enemies? Will Layla succeed in saving the world? Will she be reunited with the rest of her family and coven? Who else will have to die? Who from Layla’s past will make an unexpected appearance? Will Layla & Quin ever get their happily ever after?
If you’ve followed Layla’s journey thus far, you will no doubt love this installment as well. If you haven’t read or caught up on this series yet, what the heck are you waiting for?!
The next release will be the GRAND FINALE! I’m excited, nervous, anxious and sad all at the same time. I can’t wait to see how everything plays out and how Layla’s journey will come to an end, but I am also extremely sad to close the book on this incredible series I fell in love with from the very beginning.

I was given the opportunity to read an advance copy of this book for my honest review. This is a series and not a standalone book.
Even before I started reading this book I was excited and nervous to see what happened with the main character, Layla and once I started reading it I had the hardest time putting it down, even in the middle of moving into a new house. I even found myself wishing I could portal into the world B. C. Burgess created to join Layla and her allies in the fight against the evil trying to destroy the world.
And at the end of reading this book I’m at odds with myself because even though this isn’t the final book in this series, as there is one more after this one, I already find myself wishing this series wouldn’t end but can not wait for the final book to come out so that I can know what happens in this epic story. I would highly recommend this book and this series, just make sure to have some tissues handy as it definitely takes you on an emotional roller coaster ride.

What a ride! I’ve followed Layla and Quin from the beginning. The only negative thing about this series was having to wait for the next book release. Ascension Part 2 does not disappoint. From beginning to end the reader is engrossed in the captivating writing of B. C. Burgess. She has a way with words weaving an intricate tapestry filled with love/hate, family/foes, life/death, and joy/sorrow. The characters tug on the heartstrings revealing an emotional range yet the story stays centered around Layla’s journey from non-magical to most magical. Without any spoilers, it’s not easy to explain. Someone wonderful from Layla’s past returns as well as those we love to hate are back. This is, by far, my favorite followed closely by Descendion. I received an advanced reading copy in exchange for an honest review.

Ascension Part 2: Emergence of Evil, Destruction, Loss, Reunions and Love…
The chase and hunt for evil forces (dead and alive) continues as Layla, Quin and her forces prepare for a battle with the devil! Part Two begins with Dreagan’s return and his evil destruction of the magical worlds and earth.
The journey to face the ultimate battle begins with Layla witnessing the destruction of the west coast as we witness natural disasters impacting southern California where she stops to help a few hexless and finds a friend.
The journey home continues with the heartbreak we witnessed in Ascension Part One. The emotion leaps off the page and will cause tears 😭. We witness grief 💔and sweet reunions between parents and children, family, friends and fur family which is both heartwarming and bittersweet as we realize more loved ones have been lost and good-byes are to soon as the journey to save the world and realms must continue.
The search for a way to fight evil enemies begins as our Angel, her Guardian mate and her army try to communicate to their other magical forces where to meet for the final battle. Somehow Layla and Quin find a few hours to share love and have some off the charts sexy times 🔥🔥🔥, but to soon they reach evil and we brace for battle!
Anxiety and suspenseful is an understatement for the Mystic Series, but Ascension is that 💯and also a rollercoaster of emotions and not for the faint of heart. I can’t wait for the finale in Ascension Part 3 with lots of anxiety and excitement!

From start to finish Ascension pt. 2 is a page turner. The action packed, badass journey that we are on with Layla and Quin keeps you on the edge of your seat throughout the whole read. BC Burgess once again shows us what an amazing writer she is by bringing us to tears, shocking us in ways we never would’ve expected, and taking us along for this mystical ride! I can not wait for the finale!!! Every book answers so many questions and yet leaves us with so many more and part two is no exception. This book will leave you dying for more but in the best way, part 3 hurry up!

Yet another fantastic book in the mystic series. I was already so excited to read Ascension part two and it had me hooked from the first page. I've laughed, I've cried (get the tissues ready!) AND the steamy scenes are seriously hot. The ending leaves you wanting more and even though I'm sad it's almost over, I can't wait to see how this series is going to end in part 3! Thank you for another great book B C Burgess!

I’ve read and reread all of the books in this series, this one did not disappoint! I was completely enthralled the entire time. I didn’t get any sleep, and it was well worth it! I can’t wait to read what happens next. Thank you B.C. Burgess for yet another amazing ride!

Heart-Racing and Heart Breaking
This book had me choking on my tears at the love and the loss. Layla has found her footing as an Angel, which has left me a little sad for Quin but filled with pride none the less.

Layla and Quin are such a team, they have been on a journey of highs and lows but this book is a can not put down breathtaking ride. I can't wait for the last of these books but if you want a love story for all times and a epic adventure this is the one
