This diverse rhyming children's book celebrates the heartwarming bond between a loving grandmother and her precious grandchild. Follow along as the pair enjoy their time at the park, in the comfort of Grandma's home, and around the neighborhood. A grandmother's love knows no bounds on a fun and entertaining day with her favorite baby!
Grammy's Baby: Sweet Moments with Grandma is a perfect book for an adult and a pre-reading-age child to read together. There are bright primary colors to identify throughout the pages, different shapes of toy blocks, a round clock, and pictures on the walls to help identify circles, squares, and triangles. There are objects galore to recognize and locate on every page.
I love how this book shows the wonders of a day in the life of Grammy and her little grandson playing together, and I love that the title is repeated on every page. It provides validation that these two family members are connected and belong together, and repetition is a key part of learning to talk and read.
The African American multi-generational family life portrayed in this beautiful book is an important part of it, and it's important for children of color to read books with characters who look like them. The art is thoughtfully illustrated, and the rhyming is delightful, connecting colorful art and words through sound. I highly recommend this book for children of all colors, with a focus on inclusion.
Thank you to Dream Family Publishing, Ann Ray, and B.R. Mooney for the gifted DRC through BookSirens. This is my honest and voluntary review.
A beautiful childrens book which depicts the relation between grandparents and kids. What I liked the most is the illustrations. Usually the childrens books will have all white characters but this one has broken that trend. The illustrations were so cute
