Walda Woods attended Merrimack College in Massachusetts where she completed a course of study in Business Management. Her interest in business eventually led her to become a successful real estate broker in 1985. She has since climbed the corporate ladder to become Director of Sales for IDG World Expo in 1993. In 1995 she began her own consulting firm which offered sales planning and development services to a variety of businesses.
In September of 1996, life dealt her a most tragic blow--the loss of her husband and best friend, Tom. Tom, a healthy, athletic non-smoker loved life with a passion. Never sick a day in his forty-five years, he died suddenly from a massive heart attack during a neighborhood Labor Day cookout. The grief Walda experienced at his passing has led her through a myriad of emotions ranging from denial to depression. However, her deep faith and the often intense communication with Tom helped her to maintain a balance in her life and allowed her to heal.
Walda felt compelled to tell her intimate story of loss, grief and healing in Conversations With Tom: An Adventure in After-death Communication. Guided by the spirit of her late husband Tom, she refers to this labor of love as "one woman's spiritual journey through grief." Her message to readers is two-fold: no one ever really dies; and love is the ultimate connecting energy between this world and the next.
Walda is currently enrolled in a course of study in metaphysics and thanatology at Northern Essex Community College in Massachusetts. She has volunteered at the Lazarus House Ministries (a local shelter for the homeless), for various civic organizations and the local Hospice Association and Trauma Intervention Program. She currently leads workshops and support groups in spiritual grief recovery. She is also a member of the Association for Death Education and Counseling and conducts lectures on the subjects of death, dying and the afterlife.
