L. Ann started with the Baxters and followed that with multiple series and genres. While her books feature paranormal, FBI, ex-military and Badass Bikers, L. Ann is writing about the strong women that these men need in their life to help right the world's wrongs and keep their small part of the world safe. The women are extraordinary, strong and determined to make a difference. The men fight for right in every book. Yes, they kill people. Yes, the MC shoots at the bad guys’ feet to cause them pain. Yes, some throw tampons at each other regularly. That being said, they do these things while stopping human trafficking and experimentation, bringing their world into legitimate businesses, fighting gangs to keep drugs away from their town and kids, keep women sheltered safely while trying to stop domestic abuse. These are men that don’t leave a pack, Team member or Brother behind. They don’t treat women as possessions and they don’t cheat. Respect takes on an honorable meaning. Women and kids are cherished. Everyone is looked out for and everyone is equal. L. Ann has made amazing worlds, tackled the taboo subjects and made it easy to imagine living in a world where your protection comes from the vampires, shifters, freaky kids, albinos and orientals, military turned FBI and some Badass Bikers. With readers writing about rereading the series over and over, she feels like she’s told her characters’ stories in a way that would make them proud. Every book will make you laugh, every book will make you angry for the wrong that happens in the world. Every book will make you cry for the pain that a character feels. Every book gives you hope that we may just get it right yet
At first I was kind of disappointed that the new book was Cooper, but I was absolutely wrong! I loved Cooper from start to finish. But just so that it’s out there I really really want Tellers book! Way to go on another phenomenal book L. Ann Marie. I freakin love the world of BADASS!
This particular story is so different from her others, old western meets modern Biker Badass. Romance was evasive and hidden, but Cooper was a surprise. I want a Cooper. He brought out a different perspective to the whole BSC/MC world. Nice and really enjoyable. He deserves his new family. Well done Miss Marie, 5 star's plus extra one for Cooper.
At 29, Lawson Cooper, is President of Elan Rising. Cooper grew up in a club and on a ranch, was groomed to be the next President. He served his country as a Navy SEAL, was a satellite and Commander. He left after a mission gone bad. The club he left changed after his father and then President died. He found a home in Cort's new club. Elan is rapidly becoming the club that former military want to be in. Just, Cooper, has been alone a long time. It was just him and his dad, and the club, growing up. He has a job he loves, a club he is proud to be a part of, good friends and the brothers, but he wants more. He wants a family. His little shadow is just the beginning. Jane Meadows, librarian, and mother to a precocious 9 year old girl Austen. Who she is convinced will be the death of her. When Austen gets herself into trouble, Cooper and the brothers come to her rescue. Cooper and Jane just click. Jane finds herself living on the compound then in Cooper's house and working for Alder who in Cooper's mind is building an Ol'lady harem. Jane is full of surprises. Her dream was to travel as a translator and has been teaching Austen the love and knowledge of language. While she love dresses, skirts and heels, she was born and raised on a ranch and was a champion rider and trainer as a teen. She loves Cooper's plans for a horse therapy ranch. Jane and Austen are in danger. Cooper is worried that his newly manifested PTSD will scare Jane off. He is not shying away from getting the help he needs. Jane's roll with it personality and love of learning has and her mini me daughter fitting like they were always there. She brings the stories of her grandmother with her. Jane reconnects with cousins she thought lost. Cooper adopts his little family a grandmother. Nana Evie, is amused by and adores her new MC family, all the kids and A's. Change is coming to EROP and the MC is going to be a big part. Sweet and steamy. Loved Cooper and Jane's story. They are so cute together. A more laid back story that most in the series, a really fun read. Can't wait to see what happens next.
Why does the book have to end? It never fails every time I read one of L Ann's Volkswagen I get towards the end I take breaks and start reading slower because I don't want to finish the book, lol. It's a conundrum. I get sucked in and don't want to stop reading but yet I don't want the book to end. I really enjoyed Cooper and Jane's story. It wasn't action packed nor was it heavy (more than usual) reading yet I still loved it. It has almost all of our favorite characters, the alpha bits, Ranger, Raid, Anton, Alder, etc. Of course my favorites can change from book to book. I love how we still get to see and hear about the ones that started it all, over 50 books ago! I'm already counting down the days until the next one! Time for a reread? Hmmm.........
Amazing addition and I loved it!! Cooper was an understated President who really didn’t know his worth. Loved his story and really liked how we got to delve into his story and future. It was hilarious how he is super fast with the gun and handsome like a young Robert Redford. Really loved how the panties made a comeback but we got to have some Annie Oakley and Wyatt Earp lol even threw in the “huckleberry” line. It was great to see more of the Alpha bit interaction and how in the end they get a grandma! Pretty much they kidnap one lol. It was awesome! Love this series and it just keeps getting better and better. Never gets old and always comes up with something new and fresh. Highly recommend the whole thing!
For so long Cooper was Just Cooper…alone no ties. He is unassuming, Badass club President of few words. Jane is single mom working as librarian. She focused on her daughter, but quickly is drawn into the crazy land that is the Badass Brotherhood that takes care of their own. With unknown ties and hidden pasts, Jane and Copper grab on to each other and ride out the whirlwind of crazy that is the Brotherhood.
I absolutely love this book. I love that L Ann Marie touches on really life issues :PTSD, homelessness, etc. This story had me hooked from the first chapter. We knew so little about Copper from previous books.
Cooper is a quiet man, a President that is loved and followed by all he meets. Which shock s him constantly. He's a Biker Cowboy. Jane is his total match made in heaven Austen, her daughter Cooper notices first. But once he see Jane he is is done. Love that we continually see the characters that we loved from previous series like the FBI show up and we can see what has happened in their life. This was a nice calm book, a love story more than missions. Still a great read. Can't wait for the next book.
Another fantastic book!! I adore this author, her books, all her series, are absolutely the best I've read. The more she writes, the better she gets. I've said it so my times in my reviews, she is a brilliant writer with an even more brilliant mind. This book was different than some of the rest, but just as good. Emotions were beautifully written, characters were great and this book was just perfect, as all her books are. See, I'm a a devoted fan. I own every single one of her books.
Cooper is the E President , ex Seal and Ptsd Süffer. Hes club is 3/4 ex military with many vets like him who need help so horse therapy. He finds his olady Jane and her daughter next door after trouble. I was not a big fan of Jane ( too perfect) . But did love the club and seeing everything come together.
Thanks L Ann Marie for another awesome book. This one was a little tamer than most but the story was just as good. It is always fun to see all the characters from previous stories. I love the Alpha Bits. They make every story perfect. Cooper and Jane were made for each other.
Wasn't sure about Cooper when he first came on the scene. Slowly started to become interested in him. Dove into this book and fell in love with him! Criminy, this was great book!!!! Lol
L Ann Marie never disappoints! I love this book just like all the others. Its a great story that moves the over all story toward. I'm always sad when I finish a book and check all the time to see if the next book is out. They just keep getting better!
L Ann Marie always delivers an excellent book, and Gunslinger is no exception. Cooper and Jane are a great couple and I loved getting to know some new bits and Austen! One of the best series out right now.
I have read every Badass book more than once & I love them every time, this one is no exception. I wish Badass existed in our world today. We need them & I would be moving wherever they were.
Yet another amazing book in the MC Badass world. It continues on from Mase's book. This is a straight up feel good romance story. Very little action this time round but still so worth the read.
I love the whole world that I Ann has created. I love falling into there world and wish that it was our world. Fall into BadAss with another awesome brother and his amazing ol' lady
As with all of L Ann's books throughly enjoyed reading it. Have reread all her books from the beginning, but this one I haven't read before. Am now starting to read the ones new/ recent as its been quite a while. Just started Tellers book . 5 + stars . So imaginative 😊
I absolutely loved Cooper & Jane’s story and Austen was adorable.
Cooper had an old west feel to him and the horse therapy was a great storyline. I loved the way the Bits gravitated to the horses and were so eager to ride and learn.
Jane is the perfect match for Cooper and will be a great Ol Lady for him and the club.
I loved this book because this author returned to making us feel the connection between the characters. I enjoy all her books but this one felt really good to read.
This is book 16 in a continuing series about a group of MCs that are tightly bound together. The story really needs to be read in order and this series is actually the latest in a very long line of series that are all tied together, starting with The Baxters series. It doesn’t end on a cliffhanger but the story will continue in the next book when it comes out.
This book is about Cooper, the president of Elann Rising. He was raising in the club but joined up, becoming Special Forces. He has only been out around a year and a half and has PTSD, which he’s getting treatment for. Elann has been set up to provide support to former military personnel in the form of being part of the training school and ground ops and also having access to therapy horses. Cooper was raised on horses so it seemed a natural fit, especially as he has need of the help.
Cooper meets a little girl, Austen who lives on land next to the boundary of the club, and she has been spying on all the activity for several months before they even speak. When she is in danger he meets her mother, Jane, and is drawn to her.
It’s pretty obvious where this is going because there is a pattern to these books, biker meets cool woman and they know they are meant for each other and move in together almost instantly. Everything between them is awesome but other people suck.
At first glance, these books should be really straightforward, but they aren’t. They are actually filled with an incredibly complicated web of interactions between the various clubs, across the generations, with the local communities and governmental bodies. The clubs have masses of businesses and inventions to keep track of and the books are filled with this information. If you’ve not read the books recently you tend to get confused and lost because you can’t remember who someone is or where you read about them before and what they’ve done. Sometimes you just have to go with the flow and kind of skim over the fact you don’t know what the author is talking about.
These books are weirdly addictive. Sometimes the author seems to say things in an abbreviated manner that take a while to decipher, and there are grammatical errors and spelling errors. However, I just don’t care because I love the stories about bikers and Native Americans who are trying to save the world one person and one town at a time. It gives me a nice warm glow reading about the magic of their world.
I will always try to read these books as soon as they come out because they make me smile, even if they need a more ruthless editor.
